I was talking to a guy for like a month and then I told him we should just be friends. He didn't want to but later agreed. Then he sees me with another guy and tells me that he doesn't think we should talk anymore because he's been seeing someone else and she probably wouldn't like it. I asked him if he just didn't want to talk to me anymore, but didn't answer... what does this behavior mean? did I hurt him and that's why he said this

I remember when I was head over heels in love with a gothic girl in 2006, she cheeted, I dumped her, became a heavy drinker for a couple of years. we tried to do the be friends and e way thing, but my mind keep telling me (remember when everything was perfect between you and her and you were so happy?, and how she just didn't care and cheeted? Don't it mess with you hanging out with the very thing that is the reason you are upset? I call it the Ex-factor, I can't deal with it. It makes me drink and listen to Dark Funeral, some people are just meant to never be around each other again.

Well, it depends on whether he is actually seeing someone else or not.

1. If he is, then he's probably being straightforward that he doesn't think it's a good idea to talk to you anymore considering. I think that's appropriate.

2. If he isn't, then he might not like seeing you with other guys. And, as such, it's better for him to be able to do his thing without being reminded that he "can't have you" i.e. he doesn't want to be in your "friend zone."

By saying ''just friends'' to guy means rejection. I think you hurt him, even if you didn't mean to hurt and I guess you really didn't have any bad intentions, but rejection is never pleasant. Perhaps he's avoiding you to prevent further pain. Hanging around or seeing your crush by knowing you don't have a chance can be very hurtful. But avoiding the crush can help to get over it.

When he agreed to be friends, most probably he was hoping that things would work out eventually. But when he saw you with another guy, he realized nothing would work out.

The 'other girl' sham was probably a face saving trick.

The funny thing about guys is that we usually mean exactly what we say. On the other hand, you might have hurt him; and instead of sticking around to be tortured by a relationship with you that can never be, he's walking away.
