How common is it to still get spanked in the mid teens?

I heard of someone that got spanked at home all way till age 17.
Then again his parents were hispanics and I guess it must to normal to get treated like a kid at that age.
But honestly is that even common or normal? That has to be super embarrassing and retarded. Why would someone still need to spank at that late age?

There is no way I would just stand there at that age and let my parents hit me. I would have file for assault charges or perhaps even fight back.

You have to stop that before you reach your teens. Lay it on the line. Tell the parents that one day, it will be payback time. Tell them you do not mind waiting, but the payback WILL be happening!

Well excuse me but I was basing this on my observing. I have never met a white family that still spanks their nearly grown-up child.
The rare cases I've heard came from hispanic backgrounds where they apparently have no age limit for spanking.

In my family that wouldn't be normal at all. By age 17 I was already learning life skills and making adult decisions rather than continue being spanked.
