I don't like the whole "replace humans with machinery" in general, so... In a sense, yes. There are some aspects that I like but I think it's mostly negative.
I can’t recall the ages my children got a phone, but it was much later than their peers. They were basic mobiles without any smart capabilities, purely for location purposes and to let us know when the needed picking up from friends etc.
I would never by my son a cellphone and if I would, it would be some old shit like some nokia or something. Just for calling nothing else with a GPS chip in it. These days to many crazy people running around soecially pedos...
Yes, it is bad if its not regulated. *no internet. *no camera *no texting. *very limited gaming. The two reasons to have it is to be able to make and receive calls from home and to have the tracking function active.
The parent has the right to decide when is the right time and age for the child to get a phone. If the kid wants a phone just for fun because other kids have one if dad or mom says no it means no.
I think it's fine as long as there is a way to closely monitor what they can access online. But I have no plans of becoming a parent, so I don't know anything about monitoring options.
I am 13 and I have one But I am definitely monitered, I am A James Bond fan IK how to spy and hide my parents don't know that I have a account in this site
A kid below 14 or 15 shouldn't have a phone at all, if he's 15 and above, maybe you can buy him a phone but you must keep watching about what his doing on it...
I'm not sure. I had my first cell phone when I was 11 or 12 it was a pretty shitty one and I survived. I don't see it as a bad thing but as a parent maybe you should monitor your kid.
I think school kids should be given school phones or phones made specially for schools. These phones should have ability to be traced by parents, access by parents. With these phones, children can get in touch with other kids at school.

Kids are gonna do dumb things no matter how long you wait
If that's your reason for not buying them one

How old of a child?
The parent could contact the child with a flip phone. Don’t need a smart phone for that.
I think it's good for children to have cell phones, because they can call their parents if they're in an emergency.
I don't think they need to have smartphones, though.
I had a phone when I was in 3rd grade and I think it’s okay. I just would block him from using the internet

My daughter is eight and has had one since she started kindergarten. I don’t live somewhere safe so I feel better knowing she has a phone.
No, it's 2020 and denying kids access to tech is... just strange.
My kids have phones, granted they don't have an active number or data plan, but they're 7
It seems like you got them an unactivated phone whivh is useless
Yes... because they're 7 and don't need a phone outside of the house... it was all a deliberate move.

I'm 20 and I still don't have it. I think its wise of my parents.
Depends on how old they are... I think that once they're in middle school or high school it's probably better if they have one.
I think it's ok for them to have it around the age of 12, but when they're younger? No... I didn't even have my first cell phone untill 13.
