Anyone else feel this way? Or do y'all like it?
Do you like when people say your name?

āRemember that a personās name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any languageā - Dale Carnegie
People are flattered when others remember their name. They feel acknowledged. It's better than being treated as invisible or insignificant.
It's nice when you are somewhere and a friend sees you from a distance and calls your name.
It's amazing when someone you met once walks up and says "Hi ______" and starts a conversation as if they've known you forever. I'm terrible with names, so I often feel self conscious about not remembering them. I often have to fake it by saying something like "Heyyyy! What's up?"
In gatherings, I'm a big fan of name tags because they help me to remember people's names over time.
Anyway, you don't greet friends without saying their names, right? And when you do say their name or they say yours, if feels familiar. And if you don't know someone's name, you're not really friends.
I never felt uncomfortable about being called by my name. It's a courtesy.
Then there are nick names. Nobody who knows me uses my full first name. It's like someone named Robert who goes by Bob. People who know him call him Bob. It's same with my first name. And lots of my good friends from the past used to call me by my last name, which is short. Some people even have my last name as their first name.
Most people I known for a long time call me by my last name people I work with or do business with. All me Steve my Family calls me Mike
So when I'm just around friends or somebody that knows me as a family member is there and calls me Mike they look at me like what the hell I just kind of laugh it's my middle name and that's what they've always called me my family's always call me Mike when I was 10 and my parents got divorced hated everybody so I went to school the very first day because we had moved to a different state and the teacher goes is there anybody new in here and she pointed at me and said Mike can you stand up and introduce yourself and and in a Split Second I said said hi my name is Steve the teacher says wait a minute it says on this paper here that you are Mike I said that's my middle name I'm Steve for now on LOL
To me it's like they are saying my name so I will pay attention to them. Also like they are being uppity over m.
Jen Psaki says people's names when answering questions from conservative news reporters. That uppity thing again, like being scolded be her.
Remember when your Mom would yell for you to come to her and she would use your first and middle names. Then you knew you were in trouble.
I don't particularly like it, nor does it make me uncomfortable.
Most people call me by my last name so if someone calls me by my first and they aren't my parents or bff i might be shocked.

I prefer to having them cussing at me and swinging arms or going to yank or break the headboard in half as Iām tapping that second spot from behind after having warmed her up with some neck and a Clit O in same position. *%#*<*<*<*?*, Iāll respond too🙃
lol I am neither of the choices but am OK with it... sometimes find it interestingly odd if am 1-on-1 with someone and they say my name multiple times... ummmm... I'm the only other person here lol... now as my mind often drifts to sex topics when replying to your questions lol... it's always hot when she says my name in the throes of pleasure :)
I don't enjoy it. Most of the time this is a ''sales strategy'' coming from someone who believes he understands ''business''.
Those who count won't need that - I know that they know who I am (and vice versa)
Funny anecdote: we had a new crew member on board and I asked her how she wants me to call her. She said: ''Darling'' :D
Immediately, we were best buddies. And 'darling' it was - ever after.
(and for completeness: nothing else followed ;) )
Hearing my name called only reminds me of my mom screaming at me when I was growing up.
Wait.. do people stop and think when they hear there name did I like that or not?
I know I don't. When I hear my name that's just it then I proceed to listen to the point of there next words because that will be the part that matters.
I am an old Army guy, so everyone was referred to by their rank and last name, using first names or referring to someone in the familiar is considered unprofessional, and no one likes be called heh you all the time.
I suppose it depends, if its like friends or just random people i know then that's totally fine. But if its my boyfriend, then its like, did i do something wrong? Do you not love me anymore? Kinda vibes. lol
I like my name being said during sex...
but otherwise eh i don't care much
I don't like my name. All of us just call each other by whatever nickname. Though I've noticed if a woman is unhappy with someone in the current group, they'll often use the persons real name.
Nope. Especially if people automatically shorten my name. I've actually gotten away with not wearing a nametag at my job because of how much i hate it lol
I hate when strangers call me by nameā¦like if Iām working in a store and customers happen to see my name on my name tag. It annoys me when they start using it.
If we're going to do something mediocore and they say it and nothing else, I'm gonna start sweating and thinking we about to break up or gonna say something truly horrible.
Overall Iām cool with people saying my name however when Iām on the job & my coworkers say my name I tell them to leave me the fuck alone.
I don't usually think anything of it, but there are times when I feel like my name sounds better when certain people say it as opposed to when I say it. 😂
Hi Isabel ;)
well just imagine uhhh brad pitts voice saying your name. thats me ;)
Not usuallyā¦. Bcos usually my name is used when Iām in trouble.
I feel like it's a way to manipulate people into feeling more personal, that's how I use it at least, lol. I become instantly suspicious.
Depends on who says it. A friend, family or someone I know, sure.
My girlfriend? occasionally maybe.
Anyone else would feel weird.
Not a fan but honestly itās not that big of a deal. If I let little things like that get to me the inmates would be running the asylum at work.
I get a little uncomfortable especially when in class we would read something with my name in it. LoL
I like when someone calls me by my first name. When they just call me by my last name I think it shows disrespect unless they don't know my first name.
