Have you ever gone on a trip with someone you weren’t super close with?

Tomorrow I’m going on a trip with an old friend from high school. He was friends with my best friend, so there were times we would hang out and smoke in highschool but we didn’t really talk on our own.
I just saw him for the first time since highschool back in November when we were at a small party together.

He asked me if I wanted to go to Drag Con in LA with him (it’s a convention by Rupauls Drag race and a bunch of drag queens from the show are gonna be there) because I’m the only person he knows who is a fan of the show. Since we planned the trip, we hung out a couple times on our own. We get along great so I’m not worried but I do think it’s a little crazy that I’m going on a whole vacation with someone I’m not even that close with 😅

As a kid, my best friend at the time invited me on a road trip with her mom and her older sister. I'd never met her sister until literally getting in the car, but I figured, sister of my friend, should be fine. Nope. Had no idea they literally hated each other. The mom's plan apparently was she thought that if she invited me there was no way they could fight. Wrong. They fought for 12 of the 14 hours we were driving to our destination. In the hotel. At the pool. At dinner. On the hike up the mountains. On the way down the mountain. It was so bad, I barely had any conversations with my friend because she was too busy being pissed at her sister. Day five of this, I broke down in tears, and the mom finally realized what a crap plan that was and told me to wait outside the hotel room. She unleased some sort of hell on her daughters, and the next thing I come back in, and they apologize and were not allowed to speak to each other any more for the remainder of the trip. That meant a good god awful 14 hours drive back where they sat fuming in silence and I was forced to just stare out the window. I've never taken another trip with someone I didn't know personally. Lesson learned.

I went on a vacation with my parents four married friends and two were fine with me cause they had experience with kids while the childless couple did not like me being there and just tolerated me cause they were friends with my parents, cause I made a lot of noise in the car and ate too many granola bars etc…

I’ll admit I’m terrible at going on trips with people I don’t know. I’d have to warm up to it, and I tend to avoid the situation at all costs.
for me day 1 would be awkward, but I’d prob. be ok by day 2.
sounds like you guys have been hanging out so It sounds fine however

I went to Italy with a person I had only known for like 3 weeks. We had a great time but his snoring made it hard for me to sleep. So I was kind of mad about that. He was a lady killer too so I had to became aware of being the less attractive guy. ☹️😂

Keep a sense of humor. Don’t let irritations get to you. Focus on what you’re going for. As long as he doesn’t kill you or sell you, you’ll be fine.

But yes I survived! Me and him got along most of the time, he def has an attitude problem sometimes but we’ve gotten close and I’ll probably spend more time with him haha

Sure I have gone on multiple group hikes where I didn't know anyone ahead of time, but those trips are organized so nothing to argue about. So you know what the goals are and they aren't open for debate.

Only once while in college. I went on a backpacking trip with a friend who I didn't know that well. It was OK but I think I would have preferred going on a trip with someone who I knew better.

Yes I randomly went on a road trip to another city with girls from work once after highschool. Barely knew them and basically just spent the entire trip fingering one of them in the back seat.

Those are some of the best kind of trips. If you don't know eachother, you don't know what's going to happen and it makes everything so fun

Yes, it was extremely annoying. He complained the entire time and didn't have to pay for most of the shit. He just did the driving 💀✋🏽
