How old do you think this mouse is?

She was in the shower at a friends place. Thought it was dead on its back and mouth open. Picked her up and she moved. I thought she was a baby’s bc of the closed eyes closed ears difficulty walking & drinking milk. But once dried, eyes opened ears opened gets around fast & chews on mouse cubes… so I don't know. Obviously very young still but maybe old enough to be on her own 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s rainy here today I’m going to keep her warm over night if the sun comes out tomorrow, I’ll let her go outside- if she wants.

She is extremely small and her feet are super big compared to her body. House mice have tiny eyes but hers are big in proportion to her body - which is only size of top joint of my thumb. Thing is I don’t want to bother her if she’s old enough to figure out food on her own, otherwise I need to feed her every 4 hours. She did ask for food when I found. I think she’s partial weaned but close enough to nursing she remembered it in time of stress. I don’t know if leaving food for her will suffice 😕

She is 6 grams and still weaning so approx 15 days old. She was weak this morning but after pedialyte milk cheerios & petting, she perked right up. I thought she got weak bc I thought was old enough to forage. She can also eat gentle solid foods but is still at a partial suckling stage & will need to be weaned for another week or so. She sleeps in a heated habist with tunnels with but loves to be held and pet. I will upload videos of her progress through Imgur for whomever wants 😊

Feivel is very strong now. His day is eat wash sleep play. He squeals once to notify me he is finished eating. Washes his face & hands, hides nose between my fingers, cleans again, looks up at me & lays flat so I will know to pet him. Naps for 30 Min, runs into his habitat to play. We do this 4 X a day. Before eating he will not respond to ears scratches - after eating he will closes eyes twists head lean into pets like a puppy 💕

Feivel is now approx 10 grams 28 days old the equivalent of a human two year old & as such has learned about saying “NO!” He hates anything I give him but it magically disappears once Igo away. He can forever and drink water is an excellent hider is gaining I decide I’ve by the second tho still loves his teddy bear heated rice sock & ear scratches UNEQUIVOCALLY 🥰 Age wise he’s ready to go but due to sub optimal nutrition he’ll need 2 extra weeks. video clips : day 1 - 15

I did some digging around on the internet for a few minutes and came up with some suggestions that they are covered in fur and look like small adults at about 2 weeks and are fully weened at 3 weeks.

So I would guess about that old.

Presumably it would need to be weened or it would be dead, so maybe 3 - 4 weeks?

I think she’s partially weaned prob her mom was too tired and that’s how she ended up where she shouldn’t be. There are no visible teeth and she still suckles. 🤔

Lol he is pretty funny. He will lay down and fall asleep while I pet him and as soon as I stop, he wakes up and runs around.

I expect as he ages he will get more wild. More run less sleep. Right now he’s approx 3 weeks old. He has a few more weeks into adulthood. I wish he had a friend to start life with when he’s of age, they could sort out the world together. I don't know how domesticated vs wild he’s going to be and how strong his instincts will make I got my not being a proper guide for wild life. Right now he loves his habitat he never tries to leave he runs around and goes straight to the arms of his teddy bear. He enjoys naps in my hand but his fav thing is going home. I’ll see how that changes as he ages. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah unintentionally ☹️ She was in the shower when I was in it I didn’t see her immediately she was gasping for air and soaked when I got to her.

I think what happened is his mom dropped him while getting water I mean he accidentally let go. And she had to take off. I don’t see why else he’s be on his back. And he was prob there a long time bc once he was rehydrated he was moving but when I got him I thought he was dying.

I was slightly surprised but I think bc of sherma I kind of got used to the idea I’d stumble in bay rodents at some point so not too surprised just my brain went into emergency mode- it’s terrible seeing a tiny thing drenched on its back choking 😢 I was scared it was harmed And I wouldn’t be able to ease his pain. I was very relieved when he started eating drinking drying off and perking up. 😅

Na don’t think so. Too small no visible teeth and still suckles. I’m guessing between not weaned and weaned. It is hard to tell tho bc house mice are small as it is but she’s either really starving or very young she is too skinny to be an adult.

I thought maybe bc she ate but the food I gave her is for weaning mice so the fact she could eat it doesn’t mean she’s too old and she’s tinnnny & I do not see her teeth plus she suckles milk from a brush. Her bets kid is confusing, I guess I’ll figure it out ultimately. 🙏🏼

her glucose could be dropping ( her blood sugar ) you may want to give her some
peanut butter/sugar water, something to bring her up. That will help her

Yea She was weak bc she needed liquid and food both. I thought she was foraging age so I didn’t feed her milk at 4 hour i her sis during the night I just left her solid food… this weakened her by morning. Now that I know her age I will regularity give her kitten milk and mouse pellets & Cheerios for her to nibble on. She was dehydrated in the morning due to only solids at night. I gave her pedialyte and milk and she was happy. I will give her peanut butter when she is older 😊
