My daughter's friends and going places?

My daughter is 17 and a senior. She never introduce me to her friends. She got plenty. She talks to her friends all the time but when I ask her why she never let me meet them she brushes it off.
Now that school is out she want to go places and do things with her friends. I don't know her friends. There have been several missing persons in my area the past year. A 22 year old man in my town who got two small kids was going to meet some friends in his car. He's been missing since December it's now almost July. A guy went missing in 2016 his remains were dug up last month in someones back yard all in my town. I just can't let my daughter go places with people I do not know. She does not understand this. I live in a bad area that's drug and crime infested. She won't even introduce me to her friends. Am I being unreasonable‽

No you're not being unreasonable. She's your daughter and you worry about her safety as every parent should worry about their children. I'd be very concerned it my child wanted to hang out with people I never met.

I don't think you're unreasonable, YOU are how a mother should be to their child. I would want to be in the know about some people they meet if I had a child.
