Is it common to have kids with someone you love but not in love with?

Anonymous

We have a 3 year-old daughter. I had a complicated pregnancy (first one ever too) at the late age of 35. I love him but don't feel infatuation nor butterflies in my stomach. I'm not madly (passionate) in love with him. The sex is still good but I'm just not lusting for him. It doesn't help that he's a bit overweight (always has been since I met him) and a bit awkward during social gatherings.

I had felt those emotions before twice but neither of those 2 men would've given me a family. I left them for the obvious reason that it wasn't going anywhere. So I just didn't care about the falling in love thing. I just wanted a life partner to form a family by then.

Is this common? To have kids with someone you love but not passionate in love with?
