Would you have been better off without a parent present growing up?

My father is a lazy violent angry paranoid shut in. He and his family were very violent towards me growing up. He never let my mom have any friends and basically used her for free housekeeping. He was never nice to either me or my sister growing up. He humiliated us both growing up and never let us have friends either. He beat my dog and has told me several times he wished he wouldn't have married my mom. No one loves me or my sister as his mom disowned both of us and refuses to have any to do with us. He hasn't had a job since 2007. He quit working in his 40s because he got fired for sexually harassing women at work. I do not/have not sexually harass anyone and never will. My question is would I have been better off without a father and have any of you felt like you would have been better off without one or both parents in your life.

Sorry to hear about Dad snd raising but you conquered that Dad behavior. My uncle was like your Dad and bipolar. Sold medical supplies at hospitals so he can work. Hasn’t worked for 20 years now. He also cheated on my Aunt and she’s a nurse. He did lots of other crap and I had to put them in a rental I have next door to my mom’s house in subdivision. Living off government ain’t enough to pay 2400.00 in Rent…

After my dad died I would have been better off not having a mother or older sister. They both were so violent to me after my dad died. My mother and sister never liked me because I'm a boy, so before he died I had him to go to. After he died it was just horrible for me.
