Is it ok to give baked goods as gifts for Christmas?

I have 3-4 friends to buy for who live near me. I could bake two dozen mud muffins with 6 for each person. It would be more personal than a box of chocolates and would save me money when I also have to buy gifts for 2 friends living abroad and 16 relatives.
