Am I in the wrong for ignoring my dad, because he hit a dog with his truck when he was drunk, and he just kept driving?

I'm 29. My dad is 64 if any of that matters. Anyways, I was helping my dad move his furniture from his old house to his new house. He's been sober for 9 years now, and goes to AA meetings almost everyday. He's a lot better person than he used to be. Anyways, I've been thinking of something bad that I did a long time ago. I guess my dad was trying to make me feel better, but he said back in 2012 when he drank a lot that he and his girlfriend whent to a concert. My dad got drunk, and he was driving back to the hotel when he hit a dog. He said he thought about stopping, but he really didn't want to bet in trouble, so he just drove off. He said that the guilt tears him up inside. I could tell that he was genuinely remorseful. Well, I feel like that's just not forgivable. He called me multiple times today, but I ignored him, and I never ignore his calls, so he knew there is something up. He texted me asking if im ignoring him because of what he told me. Am I in the wrong?
