Am I silly for wanting a baby at 22?

Sooo I’m currently 21…about to turn 22 in like 3 weeks and I don’t look forward to it at all. I’m getting old. my biological clock is ticking and I reallyyyy want a baby like right now 😭 I was talking to my mom about this today and she told me how silly I was and how it’s way too soon for me to become a mom and that I need to graduate from college first

I’ve always wanted to be a young mom but with the way things are going, I don’t think that will be the case.

I can’t have sex before marriage so I have to wait to actually marry someone to have a baby and I don’t know when or if that’s ever going to happen. 😭😭

I the past people have babies at 18+ because they married young and the parents are willing to help look after the kids.

Time is different. If your parents are not willing to help, then you'll find it extremely challenging to being up a baby without a proper career. It's made worse if the father is not contributing.

I would say this: don't put your energy into chasing any guys right now, BUT keep your eyes and your heart open to seeing what comes along.

After you graduate and get hired, if you're still single, then get proactive about finding a man.

you have about 20 years left to have a child while you are still of what they call healthy child bearing years (18 i guess). the desire to have a child is natural. however, understand you have plenty of years to have a baby so find yourself a good partner, get to know them, if you want to you can marry (cat stevens), etc etc

but don't fret just yet

Just a thought. Childbirth is EASIER on you at 22, BUT taking on that responsibility at 22, is a risky and very stressful thing to do at that age. Finish school and then plan a family if that is what you want. Ask other young people what their experience was at being a 22-24 year old parent

Stop worrying about your biological clock. You are still young. Are you silly for wanting a baby, no, but just know a baby is hard, and they are expensive.

yeah
