Why are men so ignorant about how women feel about their sons?

I have a son and I am protective of him same as men are protective of their daughters. I also know many moms who are like me and few dads. The problem is many men try to ignore this or brush it off. Like when our sons are having sex, even if its inappropriate like with someone much older, men think we should mind our business and not get involved and let our sons have sex, without thinking of the consequences like pregnancy or mental well being.

I personally find this behavior insensitive and rude.

Not every mother feels like you. So not every man has to understand it.

I love my kids, son and two daughters. But I don't think being protective would help them grow and develop. They require challenges, stumbles and mistakes in controlled environment to learn to deal with them. I offer knowledge and support. But I won't protect them. They have to live their lives, make own decisions and bear consequences.

So I mind my own business and don't mingle in lives of adult son and daughter. They know how to prevent pregnancy. The youngest is still a teenager and also knows everything she needs to protect herself.

If I were to have a son, I would definitely be "strict/protective" because I know how (teen) guys are. I wouldn't want him going out sleeping around and getting stds/unplanned pregnancies with random women. Once he's eighteen, it's his choice whether he wants to listen to my advice or not, but he will deal with the consequences if he decides to do anything dumb that I advised him not to do.

Because we were that son, and we would rather make our own mistakes and not have our mother try to get involved.
So obviously if I had son I would understand that my son is going to think the same and if they are really concerned they would tell me but otherwise it's because they don't want to.

Okay so we're twins so we're both 15 he isn't doing what's like you know you said with doing it I guess I don't like saying the word lol. Just doing really stupid stuff like going off the roof with a skateboard shooting arrows into the sky and then running away with his friends. There's a lot of dumb stuff he's doing he almost shot himself in the stomach trying to reload a handgun. Like wish someone would go up and smack him across the face sometimes before he hurts himself
