I have arranged to meet up with my friend from high school as there is a school reunion event on and I told her that she could stay at mine, so she is getting free accommodation essentially. Back in high school when I knew her, she did use me for money a lot and she even stole money from my purse one time. It’s a few days until she arrives and she’s making loads of unreasonable demands. She wants me to chauffeur her around in my car so she can get her Christmas shopping done. I told her I’ve already done mine but she seemed to coerce the situation so now I’ll be driving her around the shops. She keeps saying ‘I want to go to get some new trainers and I want you to take me to a book shop. I also need to get some popcorn so we can have a movie marathon.’ She also asked me if there was a good Chinese place near my house and I told her I wasn’t up for getting a takeaway because it’s expensive and said she could get one and she sent a rude reply back saying ‘I’ve had a hard few weeks so I want to treat myself’. She is making this entire trip about her needs and what she wants to do. Not once has she asked me what I’d like to do or where I’d like to go.
I texted her anyway saying I had to cancel the trip because I’m unwell and she said ‘oh no now I don’t have any accomodation and I’m going to have to find my own’. She didn’t say she was disappointed about not seeing me.
Is my friend just using me for her own needs?

if she is that adamant with her demands, demand she pays you gas money for driving her around. if she can do it, so can you. don't feel guilty about it either. stop letting her walk all over you! this girl is not acting like a good friend. i'm surprised you're still allowing it
