Would you be offended if someone you met only twice forgot your name?

Question

It was probably for the third time I met my friend's cousin. We had a good chat whenever we met but her name slipped my mind. I asked her name again but she wasn't very happy with that. I genuinely had forgotten her name. I met her today randomly after a gap of around two of three months.

What would have been your reaction if you were in her place?

I am really bad with names and always forget them, this is more often if I meet someone when I am out drinking in a pub or club. Equally people for get my name, I do not mind in the slightest. Add in to the mix not all names are easy to pronounce or when you write them down it’s even worse. I find it silly if someone gets upset if you cannot remember their name.
Luckily I always put Mum on her birthday cards, as no chance will I ask her lol.

I'm not so stuck on myself that I assume every meeting of me is a life changing event. I don't even assume that when it actually HAS been a life changing event. Screw her, you're good.

No, not really. It's natural and normal to forget someone's name; it doesn't mean that the person dislikes you or thinks you're irrelevant or anything. It just means that they're human and forget names. Plus, it would make me a hypocrite because I'm bad with names too.

I am sometimes terrible with names. I always try to use this hack when meeting someone for the first time. "Edgar, hello 👋 Edgar, nice to meet you. Then when I am leaving the situation I repeat their name one last time "Nice to meet you Edgar"
The important component is to say the new person's name three times somehow.

After ten years of bouncing and having to shake hands with every other asshole who came into the place and wanted to shallowly befriend me because they wanted to skip the line in the future, I am now unable to remember names OR faces with any consistency. So I’m no place to give anyone else any guff for that, haha

That stuff happens. Everyone forgets. If your tone is apologetic when you ask her to remind you, I think you're ok. It's childish or even jerky if she acts in a way that makes you feel badly.

I'm terrible at remembering names and unless I meet someone multiple times or making sure to write their name down, I'm most likely going to forget it. I could never be offended if someone forgets my name, because I get what it's like to be forgetful.

And as I started to speak to them they could see that I forgot their name so I quickly said hey who, who, and we both smile and she told me her name again and I said I knew that I just like calling you who who we both laughed even harder and after that day she started calling me when I started calling her her name

Nah, I'm pretty good with names.. I usually remember them once, sometimes twice, but you never need to tell me more than that, especially if I will see you regularly for a while.. People have forgotten my name, and I usually don't put much thought into it, and even find it funny sometimes..

I don't like people using my name. Ever. I don't use theirs either.
This is probably just a consequence of my complete inability to remember names (I can remember faces with crystal clarity, but names elude me).
If someone forgot my name I probably wouldn't notice, but if they made a point of remembering it and saying it out loud, I become wary... edging towards hostile.
