Heard a serious allegation about my guy best friend and now stuck between him or my other friend circle?

I (19f) have known my guy bestie (19m) for 6 months now, we used to follow each other on insta as he was joining my program and he happened to know my ex and he helped me through my breakup and has been there for me a fair bit. He is known to make sexual comments and jokes all the time and has a very dominant personality. His dm's are always filled with girls but he doesn't really talk to them. He used to make such jokes with me a lot and I know he has anger issues and aggressive tendancies although he has never showed them to me. He did tell me what a man whore he was in high school but never lost his virginity until his first semester at university. He told me about a Sexual Harrasment allegation that was put on him when he was trying to help his ex when she was drunk but aside from that I've never seen anything off about him. One of my girl friends whos group I've started becoming a part of since September/ October warned me about him saying she heard allegations that he raped a girl and although she has not seen the proof, her source is reliable, one of her trusted friends and she knows the victims name. She said she doesn't care if im still chosing to be associated with my guy bestie but she wants me to be safe and she would also feel uncomfortable if i chose to stick with him, which also means she would eventually cut me off. There is a voice recording in which my bestie confessed the rape and requested the girl not to tell anyone. Her cutting me off means the rest of the group would cut me off. I am stuck in between now cause even if I ask him its not like he is going to tell me the truth but i can't look over this either. Unfortunately I cannot access the evidence.
