Are you more of a listener or a talker?

In conversations would you say you talk or listen more? I find I listen a lot and don't really say much unless I need to, once I get to know the person I'm a bit more talkative, how about you? 😊

Typically the talker being quite extroverted although I paradoxically have all sorts of friends telling me I'm a good listener.

I do shut up when others start talking and am self-aware enough to tell when I'm losing someone's interest, like I'm not going to keep going on and on if someone is reduced to saying things like, "Uh-huh, I see," that's my cue to start asking questions or change topics to someone that might engage them more.

Still, I'm a storyteller type. I like to tell people funny stories and get them to laugh. Also taught CompSci 101 and 102 in university and that's a pretty dry subject, so I had to learn to get people to laugh and engage their interest while delivering my lectures to avoid putting my students to sleep.

It is absolutely delightful to me when I get to encounter another chatterbox. We tend to be able to chat all night long back and forth without anyone doing the bulk of the talking.

Depends where I am. If I am in a bike shop Its mutual as I am always open to learning something new, and people always give and take stories and bike details: if I am in line at a store I will chatter to pass the time. If people are open to it.

it varies, and it depends on the moment, the person and the context...

there's a time for both, so I just go with that... whichever fits and is required
