When did you know you were ready to be a parent?

I've just turned 26, I'm 4 months away from getting married to my amazing partner who I love very much and we have are own house together.

Things are going great financially too for me and my partner we both have really good jobs and earn good money. My partners career is really taking off. He's a gardener for a very wealthy lord and lady but we are trying to find a live in job for us so he doesn't have to drive a hour and half to work a lot of the jobs are in small country towns but we think it be a better life if we had children.

My partner is 30 almost 31 and he doesn't want to be a old dad but it also feels like its all down to me to have a baby. As soon as we got engaged everyone put the pressure on me and now they doing the same with babies.

I only turned 26 this weekend and I would like to go travelling with my partner some more before we have children but thr what things are going in the UK i doubt we'll be affording to travel much when the price of basic necessities are reaching a all time high.

Also if we moved away for my partners work I'd be a first time mum with no family support and sometimes I feel like I'm a child myself still. I'm still learning to drive and get scared to make phone calls.

I walk through shops and see baby clothes and I go all soft inside but then I hear a baby screaming and I remember it's not all sunshine and rainbows
