What are some things you wish you knew before having kids, that you believe would help with parenting?

I believe I am reaching the stages of becoming "mentally prepared" to have kids. I am still very young, f (18), so i am not planning it soon. I was thinking potentially in my early-mid 20's. The reason I say this is because I might struggle to have kids due to health complications, so having that extra time would be ideal. I obviously know that being financially stable is important, as well as making sure dealing with past traumas is important. However, I want the best perspective from other people. I have always been told that I am really well with kids, and or some reason, they seem to like me. So I sort of believe that is just a little positive. But if there are things that you feel that if you were told before or "prepared" for, it would've made your time easier while doing parenting, please share. Any tips I should be ready for when I do decide to have kids? Things you didn't know or something that isn't as talked about? Please share.
