How did you know you were ready to have a baby?

Im thinking about starting next summer but im an insecure person. My Boyfriend Will be a Good parent. he's good with kids, im not. Im afraid i won't be a good mom because of my shyness and my social insecurities. I have a weak personality in my eyes. Also pregnancy scares me of.

How do you know when you’re ready when you have al these insecurities? Its not about “now”, because i have these insecurities for forever. How did you know?

Being a good parent isn't just about having good social skills, it's about a capacity for unconditional love, acceptance of who your child becomes, and the interest in self-reflection and an understanding that nobody is perfect. You've demonstrated in this question that you can question yourself, that you WANT to be a good parent, and that you're thinking of how your child will perceive you. That alone puts you ahead of so many parents out there who have children because they want little accessories, and not out of love or hope for a family. Both my parents are extremely shy. I'm pretty shy too, but I had amazing parents, and I know you'll be more amazing than you think you will. But do it when you're ready.
