How do you handle a controlling mom?

I’m 19 years old meaning I can make my own choices but I can’t without my mom getting mad. I finally got my work permit that I have been waiting for, for months now. She told me that I have to work at this store. My sister worked there and quit after a week because they are shit. When I told her there are other stores I can work at she got mad. I always need to keep her happy and please her otherwise she would down talk me. What should I do?

So do what you want and let your mother get mad. If she's unpleasant, tell her you will talk to her when she can be civil.
