She does not stop herself from farting when we are all in the same room and sometimes I find it hard to maintain conversations when she keeps doing that. I asked her why she keeps doing that so much she said she cannot hold it, it gives her pain.

Socially flatulence is a non-event. A person with uncontrollable flatulence should excuse themselves.
Once you hit a certain age things of that odorous nature don't really matter.
