Online friend (potentially catfish?)?

Hey GAG! I'm back with another question. I've had this online friend for about three years or so, we've swapped emails and phone numbers. We also had Discord at some point in time as well. He's quite a close friend of mine but there's always that seed of doubt about him being a catfish, even though he seems genuine. We've been texting so far, we haven't called yet since both of us are shy over call. Is there anything I can do to affirm that my friend is not a catfish while still letting him take his time? Thanks. :)

The only way you confirm his identity is by making a video call. It's normal to have doubts, but he might actually be who he says he is.
Just be careful, don't share personal details like your address for instance.
