The cost of material is generally not a significant part of the retail price. It's the labor, advertising, brand name, and store markups that you're paying for.
Well duh it takes more material to make there clothes. Me being big myself still understands that. What I don't get is skimpier the girly underwear with barely any fabric costs way to much.
Well I'm not paying more. But your welcome too. I have better priorities than spending extra money on clothes, when you can just get them from a charity shop.
Clothing already has a ridiculous markup anyway. The material cost is absolutely negligible, so it would only make sense if you want to screw your customers over even more than you already do.

No, I really don't think so. I didn't choose to be taller than my friends, I don't want to have to pay more for my jeans than they do.
I am not plus sized and understand the raw material argument, but don't think the end consumer should be charged more.

People really underestimate how much of what they're paying is the cost of convincing you to buy it.

People can lose weight. You can't change height. I'm tall and thin so that can't be helped.
I don't think that should matter. If your clothes cost more to manufacture, that's just an unfortunate side effect of capitalism
@anon_anon_anon That's ridiculous. And obviously not fair. Basically like saying men should be paid more.
Life isn't fair. If you require something that costs more to make, you pay more. It's economics.
That's nothing at all like saying men deserve to be paid more
Anon I agree, you can't talk feelings to a company they will
... companies just want more profit if they make more fabric cost the same they would lose money

Is the same bra more expensive if you have bigger tits?
I mean that's how it should work
And maternity clothes should be charged at a premium too.
If you use more material, it means the production will cost more. If you buy two pineapples instead of one, should you pay the same?
@almightygodszoke Sure, I'm just saying that it needs to be applied in all cases if applied at all.
Yes, that is true.
Clothes for tall people are already more expensive. I hate paying more for my clothes because of something that I can't help.
bigger the size, the more material needed to make the shirt. so an increase in price is perfectly understandable
I thought they already did charge more in stores? I think it's ok to do it as long as it only offsets the costs of more used (and wasted) fabric.
Men’s 3X plus shirts are a few dollars more. The cost of kids clothes change based on size. Yeah I think all plus size clothes should be more.
Common sense. It takes more fabric/material. It can suck, but it is what it is.
Clothing already has a ridiculous markup anyway.

Yes, their clothes require more raw materials and as a result cost more to make.
If they can afford to eat more food then I don't see why not
I only say the top choice because it requires more material therefore costing more to make :/
It would make since business wise, but it wouldn't be fair though.
i think the market should determine this. based on supply/demand, cost to manufacture, etc.
what? a tall people tax? tall people have no control over their height. that's just dumb.
It’s called extra material not a tax 😂
You are bigger so you need more to cover you... you paying for more so your paying more
Yes charge both Tall and Plus Size more, it takes more material to makes the clothes.
