Do flirting and cuddling mean feelings or is he a player?

We flirt a ton and cuddle a lot... people think we like each other and I'll admit I do like him. But part of me isn't sure if he likes me or if he is just flirting because he can and because I always flirt back.

-We stayed at a friends house and when everyone fell asleep we went into our friends room and watched a movie. We cuddle in his bed until we fell asleep. When we woke up every one else was awake but we stayed in bed cuddling.

Will guys cuddle with girls they aren't interested in?

-He notices little things and remember unimportant things that I only mention once.

-He's always touching me and picking me up.

-When with a bunch of friends, it started to drizzle out and he immediately gave me his sweatshirt because he didn't want me to get wet.

-He said he'd love to hang out with me soon and then immediately gave me his work schedule.

BUT..

-I always text him first and he randomly just stops texting.

-He knows I'm a very emotional person.. was the cuddling just him being a jerk?

-Sometimes when we talk I feel like he'd rather not talk to me, or he just doesn't have anything to say.

-Recently, his ex has been contacting him. And he always asks me for advice on what to do/say to her.

What is he thinking about me? Is he just a player? Was me cuddling with him a bad idea since I do like him and I'm unsure if he likes me?

Cuddling is a good test, guys usually are not into the level affection that you described with girls they don't like. It amazes how many girls don't know this. I've never heard of a player that goes around cuddling and stuff unless maybe there is extremely good sex involved. All the players I've known or heard of have and then leave, they don't cuddle and stuff. Although he might like but not want to out with you. a lot of girls also understand guys fairly frequently don't date the girl they like for various reason. I know if girl likes a guy usually that's all that matters but guys are totally different. I actually have trust issues with females, a lot of guys do and 2 years ago I would not have dated a girl that I was afraid I would get attached to, I actually would have pushed her away or kept her at more of a distance. It could explain some of the details you listed.
