When a guy texts you after 11pm does it mean that he might like you as more than a friend?

I have a huge crush on this guy and finally got the guts to give him my number. Shot him a text to give him mine and we started talking a litttle bit. It was just a conversation with some witty conversation and teasing thrown in. Nothing super suggestive. I'm just trying to gage if he was just being polite or if he might be kind of interested.

I agree that if someone likes you they'll carve out time to talk to you/spend time with you. But if it only happens at that time of night, I'd believe his interest in you to be more sexual than romantic or friendly. He might be fishing to see how easily you're available at that time. If I really liked someone and also didn't know them well yet, I wouldn't text that late for fear of disturbing them. They might be sleeping. I would want to show some respect. I'd rather text them mid-day or afternoon. Especially if I cared for a reply (which I would be more likely to get during the day).

I'd say if he's talking to you at late hours or times when he should be sleeping or busying himself that is a good sign. If someone really likes you they will carve out time to spend time with you , whether it be over text or in person.

Ask if he wants to do something that he wouldn't normally want to do with you. If he agrees, he is most likely into you. Guys don't mind doing annoying stuff for people the care about. This also cannot crush your hopes and embarrass you because he may legitimately just be busy and won't even know you've tested him.
