What to do when he stopped initiating texts?

A guy (who almost always texted me first) stopped initiating texts all of a sudden so I texted him first and he replied. For the past four days, I've been the one texting him first... He does reply though but our conversations are definitely shorter than 'usual'. I do know that you can't keep up texting like in the beginning when all is new still.

Should I stop texting him (for a few days until he hopefully reaches out)? I feel like I'm pushing him and that he needs space which I want to give him.

What should I do?

Ps: no, he's not busy...
And when he replies he still uses 😁 and 'haha' so it's not like his answers are shorter or one-worded.

Could be talking to another girl... or maybe he's just not interested in texting you anymore... I'm going through the same thing with a girl and I feel like after two days if she has a phone and hasn't texted me thrn she obviously doesn't want to talk to me anymore. That's been the case so that's what I think... and could be the same thing for you. You can't control the way people text. They text how they want. You could point him out for it but honestly it might cause an argument... So since he's not texting you first anymore I would initiate conversation one more time and after that... don't do it anymore.

Honestly I don't know... but the last time we were talking I said "we should go get pizza one day". We were talking about Pizzas and we are just friends we talked everyday since like March I actually met her on this website she private messaged me on here first and we were JUST friends... but now it's been two days and I know she has her phone and still no reply? Like I'm not sure why she didn't reply... She hasn't been on messenger from what I can tell but she could just turn her online status off like I don't know... either way I'm just gonna assume that the friendship we had is over and that she only came into my life for a Season literally...

I'm the one who sent the last text message and it delivered which means she should be the one who replies... I don't know I probably won't double text tbh I'm better off without her... but I don't know it's something little but I'm thinking bout it often.

Most guys get fed up being the ones to start conversations all the damn time, Like.. whats the point? to him, You probably dont give a shit, And thats why you never message him first (Atleast thats how he feels), So if you let him do it first for too long, soon he will just start to think you're not interested and move on.

Its not up to the man to make 100% of the effort ya know?

Yes I would give him some time/espace
So that, if he lost interest you will see it (no contact) otherwise he will text you

He lost interest. If I had to guess why, It was probably cause he had found a new interest who likes him back.

If you weren't going out, it's more likely than you think. Guys don't persist if the fish aren't biting, so to speak. We find a different spot to cast our line.
