Why would he start avoiding eye contact with me?

I like this guy and I know he likes me. We use to be able to look each other in the eyes, wave, and smile, etc.

What I have noticed is that lately he has been around more, blushes more, and has gone out of his way more. In return I have been showing him positive attention back...waves, smiles, etc.

So things seemed like they were going good...getting along and what I had hoped would only move forward.

Now when he is near he avoids eye contact with me, although he still comes around, still waves, still talks to me...but won't lock eyes with me. The only time I see him looking at me is from a distance and he will wave but not be smiling, or when I just happen to catch him looking when he doesn't think I will see him.

I am just wondering what has changed. Does this mean his feelings have gotten stronger and maybe he doesn't want me to see? or maybe he has not become scared? I know he likes me, so I can't imagine it is related to that..the not interested thing. Just trying to get some ideas. And I know he sees that I am looking at him from his peripheral vision as I am trying to get him to look at me.

It's not that he doesn't want to see you. You have a feeling or know that he likes you right? People react in dfferen't ways.. express in different ways. Some really loud people might get really quiet around the person they feel special about. I suggest you just keep up with your positive attitude with the back...waves, smiles because that is great and a great encouragement for him to do the same later when he's comfortable. Don't give up and be patient if he's that type of guy and that you like him. Maybe one day when you are comfortable .. deliver it as a joke and say 'why are you so shy? look at me' then give him a smile.. 'don't be scared' etc. see how he'd react and say in return. Just be playful and hopefully he comes out of that shell of his and back to what he normally was. Encouragement is needed and you just be your lovely self :)

Ugh... This guy is doing the same thing to me, but never waves or talk to me. -.- I do see him look at me at times because I look at him too being a creep. :3 Joke I don't like it when he does that. He did like me and my friends and dated them except me but he would get rejected if he did ask me. >:3 Hmmm... He liked me the least probably he's feelings are getting stronger. :O Maybe he does still like me because when i went to a different school he did message me he does miss me a little. o. o Then few weeks after school started i went to his school. :3

This is definitely related to him liking you, in a romantic way, even more. What he's unsure about is whether you just want to stay in the friend zone or not. He won't lock eyes with you because if he does, he won't be able to control smiling or blushing like crazy because he likes you so much. Or maybe he had a realization that your friendly behavior towards him wasn't JUST friendly...some guys have a hard time believing that a girl or two actually LIKE likes them due to low self-esteem. And when they find out that one does, they aren't sure what to do.

When he starts to blush he would then look away. The lack of eye contact seems to be when I say or do something, or say or do something back to let him know 'yes, I like you'. So that makes sense in regard to your comment that he may realize that my friendly behavior is more than that. Thanks! I'll keep on doing my thing and hope he comes around. I know he is shy and I think hadn't been in a relationship in a long time.
