Guys check me out, but never talk to me. I don't get it..?

I don't really understand why guys seem to check me out a lot, or point me out to their friends (and make it obvious), but will never come and talk to me. I am extremely shy when it comes to flirting, and I've never pursued a guy in my life. I'm told by a lot of people that I'm pretty and when I tell them that I rarely get approached by guys they always think I'm lying. Also, I'm pretty insecure and I sometimes wonder if people can pick up on it.. Why does this happen to me?

Guys check girls out all the time, but they don't actually approach them like you think they would. A lot of the time, people meet others through mutual friends and find relationships that way. People don't really know how to approach a girl "cold" (not knowing her, she's a compete stranger). So when you see these guys pass you by, realize that it's not you and that you aren't the only one to experience this.

Thanks. That makes me feel better about it. The problem is.. I don't want to meet people through mutual friends lol. That seems so boring. I like meeting new people!

Well if you like meeting new people, then you are going to have to take more of the initiative and make new friends yourself, regardless of if they approach or talk to you first.

The more attractive a woman is the more likely that she is hit on a lot and therefore some regular guy would have no chance. We don't want to be the guy that comes over to you, just to be told we aren't worthy. It's called intimidation. Happens all the time. Maybe loosen up a little, hang out with some guy friends and show them how chill you can be.

I already do have guy friends. I want to meet guys I don't know.. I'm not interested in my guy friends lol. Thanks for the advice though.

Then make new guy friends. Have your guy friends introduce you to friends that you don't know of thiers.

Wow same here! I am going through the same exact problem. I was also told I "intimidate" guys because I'm "too good or perfect" whatever that means.

OMG.. I'm glad you know where I'm coming from so I don't sound full of myself lol. Or they won't even give me a chance and assume I'm stupid. In reality, I'm usually smarter then them. When they find that out, then they really don't want to talk to me!

most men learn quickly in their lives that randomly approaching women ends in dissapointment 99% of the time. so most men are just not bothering like they used to 15 years ago. times are a changing, this is actually a rather complex issue

I'm talking about guys I see on a regular basis and random guys.. But if they don't want to make it obvious that they're interested and act like they're in middle school then I probably wouldn't like them anyways lol

Oh OK, if its guys that you see on a regular basis then they are probably shy because you know it gets more and more awkward to break the ice the longer they wait especially if they know that you've caught them checking you out. Also about making it obvious, if a guy makes it obvious it gives the girl total control like she (not all girls) could feel like the ball is in her caught and how far the situation goes will be her decision...

lol.. you don't even know what my personality is like. I come across as shy, but once people start talking to me I'm not shy at all. you can't judge someone's personality just by looking at them.
