A girl I have never talked to at school asked me to prom after throwing a football with me during a PE thing. Hmm?

There is a girl at my school I haven’t talked to. I think I noticed her looking at me before the class started. When the teacher finished talking she went and grabbed a football and came over to ask me if I wanted to throw it. I said sure and we started playing catch. We didn’t talk until a while into this but then asked each other some questions about stuff as we played catch.

The class was over and as we were getting back inside she asked if I was going to prom in 9 days and I said no, she said oh why not and I said I don’t really want to. She then said well you could go with me as we went through the doors and separated.

I’m not sure if she was just being funny or what but I’m wondering if she was serious. What do you think?

She said it with a different tone of voice where it was like if you can imagine a slight higher pitched voice when saying it.

Could be any reason. We can't say much without knowing more information. Maybe she noticed you even though you didn't since a long time and maybe she thought this is best time to ask you out.

Or it could be nothing, she just want someone to go to prom. Can't say for sure. You'll have to have a nice casual chat with her before going to the prom. So you can observe her more.

I probably won’t talk to her I don’t see her too often plus I wouldn’t initiate a conversation, I’m shy

Ugh! Just talk to her man. You've gota perfect chance and reason to talk. It's mostly the introversion not shyness that stops is from initialising a conversation. Introverts don't usually do that because they don't have a reason to talk. Now you have a reason. Go talk to her. Say you want to know her before going to the prom together.
