I never tried to flirt at a gym - for me flirting with strangers is kind of a big deal and I have a shy personality. There is guy I see from time to time and I’m sure he noticed me too because we have been bumping into each other often. Though I noticed him glance at me he usually looks away when I turn around to look back. It happened once when I was using a machine and he was sort of looking in my direction but rapidly turned away when I finished the movement and we made eye contact. I’m thinking he’s either shy or has a girlfriend. I have noticed he usually talks to the guys and mostly trainers. Haven’t seen him talk to a girl yet. How do you go from speaking to speaking without it being awkward?

No, because I am there to exercise and lose weight, not flirt, haha.
If I see a cute guy, I might nod at him, to acknowledge, "Hey, nice body" or, "Keep up the good work!" But out of respect, you usually don't bother people working out at the gym, especially when they're working out!
I wouldn't mind if a guy flirted, but I'd prefer either as I'm leaving/done working out, or before I start. And even then it's like, "Eh." Like I said, something about flirting with people you workout with is weird; I just focus on myself when I'm there.
If you like this guy, next time you see him, say "hi." Ideally when he's not busy working out! See if you can get a conversation going. Usually if a guy has a girlfriend, he should let you know, or he'll bring her up in conversation. You won't find out unless you ask right?
I would just ask him out. It’s scary. But that’s the thrill
Flirting with girls at gym is my motivation to go to the gym... lol.
