Was this lady really flirting with me?

Weird thing that happened last night.

My wife and I went to an art expo - she generally never accompanies me, but sometimes she's up for a night out and I'm all too happy for it. The expo goes well, she goes off to talk with some people and while I'm examining a piece I wanted to purchase I'm approached by this woman of Asian descent.

We chat a bit about the expo, she compliments my outift - admittedly an oriental style Zhongshan suit - and I compliment her on her beautiful dress. I go out for a smoke and she follows me out after a while, asks for a cigarette, we chat some more and then we get back in.

My wife joins us, we all chat for a while, and then I feel that something is off, but the lady eventually cordially leaves us and rejoins her group.

Then on the way back my wife says the lady was "blatantly" marking me down and not even my wife showing up made her give up easily. I didn't notice anything and in my opinion our interaction was simply a polite chat, but my wife insisted I just didn't catch on while this lady was "obviously" feeling the waters.

What do you think? In my opinion she was just being polite, not flirting like my wife said she was.

Many of the signals are non verbal and it’s impossible to know unless you were there and witnessed the events.

When you chatted with her, was she accompanied by anyone who also talked with you in the same conversation?

Women are generally able to recognize other women's shady behavior better than we can. Personally, I don't know, either; but I'd trust your wife on this one.
