He Doesn't take me out anymore? I feel I'm taking the 'man role'.

My boyfriend never takes me out anymore, I feel I'm the one that needs to suggest going out to my boyfriend to the pictures or whatever. I feel this is the mans job to take the girl out and suggest where we're going this weekend. I only see my boyfriend at weekends as he works during the week. When we meet and I say nothing he'd rather just stay in and have sex with me! we've been together for 2 years now.

What should I do? Am I right or in the wrong for thinking like this? I feel I have the man role in this relationship

Can I add here that I have spoke to him about it before and he says oh we'll start doing things, then we do things like go the cinema every single week, how boring? then we don't go out for ages again, it stops.

I'm not sure. It could either be, consequences of having sex early or he's really lazy. I know personally from a lot of friends, that once a girl gives in to routine sex, the learning curve is pretty much over for the guy. He ain't willing to do much else. Now I know that sounds horrible and maybe he's just really lazy, but I think it's best that you talk to him about this.

Or you could could always do the "your not getting any then" phrase. Women and men have been playing that game for centuries and it still works trust me.

Littletad - hey thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if I could call him lazy, as he travels 13 mile to see me sometimes after work and then to work from my house, just to be with me. I honestly don't know if I could call him lazy if he does things like that for me but I want to be treated like a girl and the man to actually take the man roll and take me out, I always half in whatever we do anyway so its not money.

Do you mean by early on sex , that we had sex to soon into the relationship?

Well it sounds like his job might be a little stressful and when he sees you, he just wants to relax. Honestly, there just needs to be some balance. I don't want to fully defend him here, but yeah, it does seem like he's simply out of it by the time he does see you. And... 13 miles isn't far lol. And yes I meant early on sex, like too early in the relationship. But I doubt it's that anymore.

His job isn't stressful but I do understand what your saying, he's busy a lot sort of thing. Yeah I know 13 mile ain't a lot but I just feel its a lot especially after coming from work to mine will make him tired a little. At the weekends he he plays football also, does he really have time for me? I really get pissed off as I need to ask him can we do something together.. am I am expecting to much or asking for alot?

No I don't think you are. Being in a relationship is an understanding that your priorities no longer concern just you, but your significant other. It requires work and understanding, and your entitled to your needs just as he is.
