1. how often do you actually text or call the girl, as opposed to just completely forgetting about the next day?

2. how long would you typically wait to text/call her?

3. would you usually text, or call? Which is your preference?

4. will guys ask for your number even if they have no intention of ever using it?

Girls, what have been your experiences regarding those questions?

1. IF he is really interested in you then he will start calling you from the next day as soon as he recovers from the hangover. the guy will completely forget only if he is totally drunk to the point that he doesn't remember that he ever talked to a girl, asked for her number and has it saved in his cellphone or he already has a girlfriend.

2. Actually guys can't wait to call the girl. But as you know girls don't like to be pushed and guys are aware of that. so sometimes guys don't want to push her and try to give the impression that he is not so desparate. so he decides to wait for a couple of days or at least the next weak. he hesitates to call or text the next day and repeatedly because of fear of rejection. In any case he doesn't want to lose u. It's for sure he wants to meet up next time. How about the girl also make a call or text him so that he gains some confidence if the girl has his number.

3. personally I prefer texting in the initial stage because it's quite romantic and and friendly to communicate if you don't know each other for too long.( don't need to worry about getting nervous and shy and confidence level as in talking

4. yes sometimes guys want to test their skill and confidence level especially if he is new in that field. he gets his ego boosted if he succeds in getting it.but he doesn't have the courage and confidence to actually call her and meet up because of fear of rejection. please reply mine

2. I wouldn't wait at all, it's either call or don't call. If in your case the guy is nervous, perhaps 2-3 days

3. Text to check if the water is warm, then a call because I dread typing out all the little words only to get half assed responses like "Lol, omg, or WTFEVA!"

4. If she was playing games with me, yeah I probably would just to get her mind focused on me, to show her how bad it burns to know somethings just out of reach. If she was real and I wasn't interested, I wouldn't. If she was anything else and I wasn't interested (Insecure/clingy/nervous/etc) I'd tell her how I felt rather than ask for her number and see how she reacted; hoping that she wouldn't turn and run for the hills but instead that I wanted to be friends and help her overcome her so long as she could respect that I wasn't interested romantically.

guys tend to text me that night, the next day, or not at all. they never call though, just text.

i can't think specifically of a time they have asked for my number and never used it, although I'm almost positive it's happened multiple times. the only thing off the top of my head I can think of was this one guy who I gave my number and he didn't text me but then I would still see him downtown sometimes randomly (he was always very drunk though at these times) and some times he would tell me to text him but I would always tell him he had my number, I didn't have him, and he then says oh right then I'll text you! but he never would. then one time I saw him at a party and once again he told me to text him when I get back on campus and my response was still that I didn't have his number and finally he was like oh we have to fix that then! and texted me while we were still together. I'm not sure if all the other times he was just too drunk to remember to text me and that I didn't have his number or whatever. it was also kind of a different situation cause I would also see him around sober and we would always at least say hi and sometimes actually talk.

I'd say about 50% text or call that night to try to hook up and about 40% call or text the next day and about 10% don't call or text. However, let me say that I'm from a more rural area where most people go to the bar for social recreation. When I've went out in the city, it's probably more like 70% trying to hook up 20% asking for a date & 10% don't call or text.

I've actually dated several guys I've met at bars ... It's never worked out, but I've always broke it off with them. Mainly because you don't get to know someone well enough meeting that way beforehand, so the odds aren't in your favor that it's a good match.

Being a bit of a barfly for a while, I can say that when I'm drunk, sometimes I save numbers as "green shirt dude" or "moustache guy" ... so I'm sure guys save them as things like "big t*ts" or "doable."

I usually do give my number if he asks. Some men have number asking as a sport and then they brag about the numbers they collected to their friends. Others may be genuinely interested to have sex as well as getting to know you. Most of them, once they get a number, they loose interest.

However, I'm open to giving my number just in case the guy genuinely wants to ask me out. Also, I'm not expecting anything when I give my number, hence I'm not waiting beside the phone for him to call, that is just stupid.

Im easy to contact, to get to know but I'm difficult when it comes to getting laid and forming an emotional connection... for that the guy has to earn my trust.

Honestly, getting a number at a bar for a guy is just for sex. He'd probably talk to you just enough to have a hook up. It's a bar, just a bunch of drinking and possible concealed drug use.

I think I have gotten one number from the bar and I texted her the next day and never heard back. I think she was already with someone.

3. I used to call. Now I'd probably text. Apparently it's less aggressive and more safe, while still being effective.

I think from a guys perspective, if you were actually interested in the girl at the bar, just man up and call and say it was nice to meet you etc

Girls perspective, if I met a guy at a bar who I was into, I would never wait x amount of days before replying to a text or calling back. I never understand where that idea comes from that you have to wait a certain amount of time before calling or texting.

I personally would ring the next day or when arranged for that night, and I would never not call, because for me to take a number would mean she has my attention and I want her to have mine, and I would never text, I would always ring. If I got no answer, I would leave a message for her to ring me, if I still got no reply, then I would take the hint, and let her be,x

I've never given my number to a guy at a bar or a club. They're only looking for sex usually, and I don't hook up with any guy unless I know him VERY VERY well and trust him.

Just not a safe situation IMO.

I have given my number to a guy once at a bar and he texted me the next day. Another guy whose number I had (that was actually meant for my friend, the stupid girl) texted me within a few hours of texting him and when I didn't reply (because the number was clearly meant for her) he texted again. So... that's my experience. I've also had a guy at a bar tell me that any decent guy texts back within three days and if he hits you up on a Friday night he's not interested in anything serious.

I very rarely give out my number, there has to be something about him conversation wise to get it.

Usually the guy is quite keen the first few days to text but I don't know it usually fizzles out from both parties, I blame alcohol.
