I would rather err on the rare side too. When we bbq steak, my husband likes to say he only waved mine over over the flame. He claims it's still mooing.
@TrueConfection I make the best burgers. I make them a little bigger and get big rolls from the bakery. I get the chopped sirloin and pre heat the grill. Cook them 5 minutes on a side. If I feel ambitious I throw on a couple slices of bacon.
