Sorry vegetarians, we don't have many options for you, our meals are usually meaty.
If you come to Turkey, what would you like to eat?
Sorry vegetarians, we don't have many options for you, our meals are usually meaty.
If I came to Turkey,
I would eat Shawarma, a lot of Shawarma, and then to lose weight -
I would smoke Hookah just once,
I’d go belly dancing on Turkish Songs,
I would travel in Istanbul and feed the cats,
I would take the photos from my window, wrapped up in a short silky nightmare, with the view of Historical Hagia Sofia,
I’d fly in air balloons in Cappadocia,
I’d swim in Mediterranean Sea in Bodrum and dance by the beach during the sunset.
Then, I’d go to Northern Turkey to historical provinces that used to belong to Georgia 120 years ago and meet people of the Georgian origin. Speak a bit Georgian and sing a few Georgian songs with them. That would be a great trip.
I’d love to take the tips from you!
*nightgown not nightmare hahaha
President Erdogan? Haha, he speaks Georgian?
I know a bit Turkish and would love to speak Turkish with locals, but online I’ve met some very friendly Turkish people of Georgian origin, who still speak Georgian and loved speaking Georgian to me. Which felt very heart melting for me.
There are many ancient cities in Anatolia. You can visit them or you can add a Black Sea tour to your trip. It would be a good tour in terms of natural beauties. There are plenty of lakes and waterfalls there. You can also go to Pamukkale. It is believed that if you swim in those travertines, you will be healed.
Wow! Nice! I’ll remember. I’ve been all around Black Sea Coast of Georgian side, would be nice to see Turkish Balck sea coast too.
Had no idea Erdogan was of Georgian origin. That’s nice to hear. Our countries share so much with each other.
I’ll definitely remember to use my little knowledge of Turkish, once I get there to get some little treats hehehe 🤭🤭💕
Well, you just met one. Nice to meet you.
There is no place in Turkey that belonged to georgia 120 years ago but your entire country belonged to us until 1918.
I have no interest in heorgia but if you claim my land I would claim yours too and history would be on my side.
Not even a single piece of land in Turkey belong to none but Turkish nation.
@AnusDestroyer3169 Keep your nationalism to yourself. It’s out of place. I like Turkey and respect it a lot, you would guess it if you’ve read my comments. I’ve met some Turkish people who speak Georgian because their roots are Georgian as they lived in historical Georgian provinces. I am not claiming your lands, I am stating facts. Which doesn’t mean I have any interest in saying Turkish lands belong to Georgia. They did belong to Georgia and some people still speak Georgian there, that fact should not be offending you. Just like I am not offended by the fact that small number of Georgians are Muslims and speak Turkish, because in the past those lands belonged to Turkey. We are neighbors and it’s not something uncommon. If you came to Georgia and met came across some people who still remember Turkish language, you’d be pleased to speak with them.
Its ok
@AnusDestroyer3169 Shake hands? 🙌🏻😁
I had to look up what the stuff was. Tulumba & baklava seems nice. Sarma (stuffed cabbage), menemen (egg dish), biber (stuffed cooked bell peppers), and the lentil soup also seem nice. I'm unsure about the meatier dishes since we usually don't have stuff like that here (especially where you cut your own meat off of the cooker).
I was in Istanbul last year, and we ate at a restaurant next to the Bosporus. The waiter brought us a collection of various Turkish foods. I don't recall what they were all called, but they were delicious.
Later, we visited the bazaar, had some tasty baklava, and bought a box of it to take home. It didn't last long once we got home.
When I was with NATO, İskender kebap was probably my favorite. Really all the Turkish food I had was great. I don't do eggplant though. Everything else was awesome.

I do not eat a lot of Turkish food cause even though I love middle eastern food, my family prefer East Asian food. But I love Turkish desserts, and I also like Pita Bread and Kebabs. I have a friend who likes middle eastern food just as much as I do but I have not hung out with her recently cause I'm saving money.
Alloha Snackbar! I‘ll have some tasty lahmacun and a bottle of ayran, please! 🤤
Kebabs are also good. I’ve been to cesme it was beautiful.
Was their for day from Greece. Take 30 minutes.
A lot of these dishes aren't even Turkish, but an appropriation of other cuisines, such as baklava and katayef, for instance. The Turks stole these from the Levantine Arabs
I think you're the one that should do research, because the Assyrians invented baklava. The origins of baklava date back to ancient times. Around the eighth century B. C. E., people in the Assyrian Empire, which spread across parts of modern-day Iraq, Iran, Kuwait and Syria, arranged unleavened flatbreads in layers, with chopped nuts in between, to be enjoyed during special events. That was way before the Turks appear in history.
1) Assyrians are not arabs.
2) So called "levantine" arabs are nothing but invaders from yemen and saudi arabian deserts who came there and stolen local culture during islamic conquests.
3) Arabs have no culture and civilization. You are nothing but bunch of barbaric desert bedouins thats why you steal culture of wherever you go.
@AnusDestroyer3169 Bullshit.
Levantine Arabs are the descendants of the ancient Canaanites, Phoenicians and Philistines.. It has been proven by DNA tests. They carry Haplogroup J2 as their main Y-DNA. They are also more related to Iranians and Caucasus people than Arabian Arabs because they also carry Haplogroup J2 as their main Y-DNA. Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula carry Haplogroup J1.2 and are much darker. You can easily Google this for yourself.
The Turks on the other hand, are a bunch of uncivilized barbarians from the steppes of Central Asia that stole culture and land from indigenous Anatolian people, the Kurds, Armenians, Greeks and others etc. The so-called Turkish nation is a joke.. You guys, don't even have your own alphabet, but are using the Latin alphabet... You also committed several genocide against the Armenian, Greek and Kurdish people
All of them... sorry but am indecisive right now and I heard Turkey has delicious foods so I want all
Can't wait to test one
That is too much confidence tho
I want to taste the kebabs
Turkey!
Thanks... yes I am aware that your culture is barbaric there.
We do not beat up people who tell a joke. Only barbarians would do that.
Right... so many people in Afghanistan were tortured by the USA that they risked their lives (and some died) to jump on top of a moving American plane just to escape that hell hole.

Listen, even if it was an insult. Only a barbarian would think that makes it okay to beat someone up.
In America we do not beat people up for telling us insults because we are not barbarians.
Sir, you have committed barbarism yourself by calling us barbarians. We do not beat someone directly when someone insults us, we always give a warning. There is no point in fighting with you. The Republic of Turkey is a state that is far from all kinds of barbarism, founded by Ataturk. Fighting with you too much does not suit me or us anyway.
I don't. But you were the one who said that someone who told this joke in your country would be beaten. That is barbaric.
I happen to know some Turkish people here who I like very much.
Don't worry, they won't beat you directly, they will warn you that it is not nice and if you stubbornly continue to make fun of their culture, they will beat you. There may have been a misunderstanding between us, I told you this, we understand this not as a joke but as making fun of our country's name
I think it was just a misunderstanding between us, your intentions were probably not bad, but there are people who made this joke to make fun of my country, and that's why I reacted. I apologize for the discussion. Please refrain from calling the Turkish society barbarians. We are in the 21st century and there is no such thing.🙂
In our country we would understand that someone who says that probably does not mean to offend us. I did not know that it was offensive. I thought you would think it was funny.
I would not keep saying to people there now that I know people there find it offensive. But in America, even if you DO keep saying something we find offensive we WOULD NOT beat you. You have a right to free speech. We do not believe that you should beat someone just because they say something offensive. We believe in a right to free speech... even it is offensive to some people.
I do not mean to offend anyone. But I do think that beating someone who says something just because you find what they say offensive is barbaric.
Okay... I still do not think that is right, but it happens here sometimes too even though that is not acceptable in our culture. So I can understand it.
Erdogan also praised Hamas for their October 7th barbaric terrorist attack on Israelis. That is enough to keep me from ever visiting Turkey.
I don't disrespect your culture for considering swearing disrespectful and low class. Many if not most Americans feel the same way. But the issue is what you do about it. Here we do not beat people who say things we find offensive. We don't warn them and then if they don't listen to us think it is then okay to beat them. It is never right in our culture to harm someone physically unless you are physically defending yourself from them because they attacked you physically.
"I hate Erdoğan, I will not defend his actions"
I am glad to hear that.
Okay friend Peace! I always liked Turkey, but in recent years I think your government has been going in the wrong direction and taking sides with some evil people. I hope things there turn around.
👍 I am really glad to hear that!
All the food looks good. 😉
I will invite you and your family too! 👍
I should also mention that the Turkey is a special bird in America and turkey meat is what we eat on one of our most important holidays. So for us it is not something insulting.
Interesting. Well I won't talk about Turkeys in Turkey because I don't want to offend anyone there. 😀
There is actually an expression in America 'to talk turkey."
It is a good thing. It means to be honest and frank.
Yeah, sorry about that. Can't do that on an English keyboard.
😀I don't think so. We don't use those characters in English.
I don't think we will do that here... at least not in typing. But if it is pronounced differently now because it is spelled differently, we may adopt that pronunciation out of respect.
Okay friend I must go. It was nice to talk with you. And I hope you are successful with your political effort. I am on your side. Be safe and enjoy that delicious Turkish food!
Yes! I looked up the time there before you wrote that. I was surprised you were not sleeping! Good night. 😴
Turkey. Then I could say I’ve eaten Turkey in Turkey. 😎
