Do you like fried bread?

Fried bread is a common addition to the British breakfast plate. As the name suggests, a slice of bread is fried in hot fat until its crispy. Personally I'm not a fan and would rather have a slice of unsweetened French toast but many consider fried bread essential.

Where do you stand?

One wonders why the British don't simply savor the flavor of fried wheat stalks. The wheat stalks would meld nicely with the baked beans, like a soothing balm for the senses, gently nudging one towards a food-induced coma.

Perhaps best served with hot water. The whole ensemble of wheat stalks, beans, and hot water would be a culinary snooze fest that could rival the sleep-inducing powers of the Changing of the Guard.

Actually we do have cereal called shredded wheat which is just wheat stalks. It tastes like shit so perhaps frying would make it more palatable.
