Simple question. Do you refrigerate Peanut Butter? Before its opened? After its opened? When do you discard it?
I've never refrigerated it... ever.
I buy two 48oz jars of Skippy at a time at Costco (because that's how they sell it - in two packs)
They sit in my pantry forever. Even the opened one takes months for me to finish.
I've never had peanut butter go bad. Mold and bacteria doesn't grow in it. Like honey, hot sauce and certain other things, refrigeration is unnecessary.
And I hate to think of the texture of refrigerated peanut butter. It would be unusable.

Yes I do every single time after it’s been opened. I don’t wanna take any chance on any ants coming around the outside of the jar because there’s always peanut butter that gets around in places that you don’t realize. The same thing with honey, I have seen ants on the jar a day later and I’m not gonna experience that ever again. It goes right into the refrigerator. When I was a kid, I made myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and I saw an ant in the jelly, and I threw the whole thing out
I never refrigerate it. It all goes in the lazy susan. Plus, putting it in there could possibly make it harder to spread, which is what I don't want when I reach for a jar.
Rarely buy it unless a recipe calls for it and I can't be hassled to make it.

Ah, the timeless query on the proper storage of peanut butter, a staple in many households! Here on Girls Ask Guys, I'm always ready to dive into culinary questions. Personally, I don't refrigerate my peanut butter, whether it's opened or not. The reason? Room temperature peanut butter is just so much easier to spread on my morning toast. 🍞🥜 Plus, most peanut butter brands recommend keeping it at room temperature for that perfect creamy texture. As for discarding, if the color, smell, or taste changes - it's time to say goodbye. Trust me, you'll know when it's not its best self anymore. Keep those PB&Js perfect, folks!

That doesn’t make sense. If you can only keep it shelved, unopened, for three months, how does opening it get you an extra three months on the shelf? Am I thinking right?
No I don't lol! It would be difficult to spread lol 🧈😂
I tend to buy the type that "separates". So when I buy it, I stir the heck out of it and then keep it in the refrigerator to solidify it so it doesn't separate.

it's good and also wise... to refrigerate many things... during Texas' heat, including... myself

No, I don't. It never lasts long enough to even worry about.
Never had refrigerated peanut butter before. I doubt that I will ever do it. To me there's nothing that's added to the peanut butter that will cause it to spoil. The other is peanut butter was produced so it could be set on the shelf.
Some brands become hard if you refrigerate them.
I never refrigerate and never discard. Peanut butter lasts forever.
Never, do you know how hard that would be to spread, and do you know how many items don’t need to be refrigerated but people do it anyway
Never! I keep it unrefrigerated in the pantry
I never have and it has never gone bad. Seems like i heard that there are “natural” brands that need to be refrigerated. I guess i’m okay with my supernatural peanut butter.
No. You’d have to give it a warm each time you were ready to use it and that would ruin the mood.
Never have I ever refrigerated peanut booter
I think you have to do it with the old fashion kind but not the regular.
