A Letter To My Younger Self

Hello my former self. To myself, when I was a kid;

A Letter To My Younger Self

Don't worry about being shorter than everyone else. In 8th grade you're gonna start growing. Fast, and much. You are gonna end up being a little taller than most of the girls and some of the boys, and you're gonna hate it, but you're gonna make your peace with it. Enjoy your time as a shorty, but look forward to being grown and beautiful. I know you have a little more fat on your stomach and hips and thighs than the rest of the girls, but dont worry, once you start growing, you will have long legs and more harmony in your body. You'll get boobs and curves later than the other girls, but dont worry - it'll come.

I know you go home and cry when you hear that the boys in your class like your friends, over and over again, and no one ever likes you. You feel left out. You feel ugly and annoying. But guess what? In 9th grade 6 guys are gonna tell you they like you - to your face, all on them over the time period of one and a half year. One by one. Some will even start crying while telling you and others will try to kiss you, you are going to be one of their first love's. You are going to say no to them, cause you don't like them, but in a nice way - and this gives you strength and confidence. You are gonna get a lot of compliments about your looks and your personality. You'll have many friends.

You're gonna kiss a boy in a drinking game, and you're gonna regret it - but he just has a crush on you, and he's gonna try and get you to kiss him again you for a while, so be nice to him. But don't do anything you don't want to. And don't hold back on the things you do want to.

Treasure your time with your family. Grandpa won't be with you for long anymore. He isn't gonna get to see you blossom, but he got to see you grow into a funny, creative kid - which you will later on wish you once were again.

You will be making some hard choices when it comes to which paths you will choose in life. But dont worry about the exams - you'll ace it.

You'll have wonderfull things to look forward to - and more to come than I can tell you now - but one thing is certain, - just stop worrying about the little things. It'll stop you from seeing what's right in front of you.

Best of luck

Your older self
