What is wrong when a guy is hotter than his girlfriend?

I told my brother that I liked one of his friends, so he just commented like 'he is too handsome for you"... Whaaaaat? He goes "Yeah, it is a question of balance, in a couple the girl must be the best part, so forget about him, you can not stand the competition"!

So I want to ask hot guys here, tell me is it not OK for an average girl to go out with a handsome guy? If you do, do you hear that kind of comments like why are you with her, you can get better, you deserve a model, etc. And how your girlfriend manages that situation?

Sex is what drives men. Not looks. Looks is how we choose to have sex with or to pair bond. All people, both men and women chose their partner based off their own internal sense of value. If a 20 year old man pair bonds with a 90 year old woman, he has a low sense of inner value.

Men respond to visual ques, the way a woman acts, dresses, walks, gestures, and all the genetic representation of a woman, such as long hair, etc.

Since women respond to behavior ques men can get whoever they want, if they adapt certain behaviors.

For women its not the same.

Sure modern technology has come a long way, and you can act sexy and display visual sexiness to a man through gestures and speaking and becoming more feminine, but after that its up to your wardrobe, plastic surgery, exercise, and dieting. And even after all of that you still have to have good genes and hope that you find someone before you hit 45. Unless you like Joan rivers.

The good news for women is that most men have a low self image. This is due to many things that I don't have time to go into. And this is including most hot men. Many hot women have this issue as well.

Which means that because hot men behave like they suck, they are going to get sucky women. it doesn't matter if you make brad pitt look like garbage.

Because women are attracted to behavior. If as a man, you behave like you suck, you are going to get sucky women,

Which is also good news for women. Women can behave like they suck all day, and as long as you are physically good looking. Men will still want you. Because we like the way you look visually.

Your brother is a funny philosopher. That is his opinion, not everyone's opinion. Yes, I realize most people expect to see seriously hot guys and gals with their equally hot counterparts, but that is not how it always works out. So, yes, if your partner is particularly good looking I am sure at some point you may hear some odd comments that are not appreciated, but you can just smile and look at your hot boyfriend and shrug it off.

I'm going to back the majority opinion here.

Depending on the *relationship maturity* of the guy, looks will matter more, or less. When you are first on the market as a desirable guy, you tend to gravitate towards the top of your "prospect" list. One you have a few failed relationships, or realize that you typically (not always) have to put up a lot more dysfunction in the super attractive crowd, you tend to mellow your requirements.

As others have stated, looks are only part of the equation though. By far the *sexiest* girl I ever dated was one that was probably only a 7/10 in my book. She was pretty, but would never grace the covers of the magazines. However, she was very confident and aggressive and pursued me relentlessly (how unusual!). Once I got over the shock of the role reversal I had one of the most exciting relationships in my life.

Different strokes for different folks though. Some guys love the chase. Some love the shy girl next door. Others the tatoo covered party girl.

Bottom line, be yourself and don't give up without at least giving it a try. The worst scenario is that things don't work out. How would that be any worse than never trying in the first place?

I understand his reasoning, but come on. If it were impossible for a man and a woman to be together unless she were the prettiest part... those would be 2 very insecure people.

If he is handsome their will be a lot of girls interested in him, so you will have to compete with them some of them might be more attractive, confident etc than you so you will have to compete with them. Even if you do manage to date him other girls will always be giving him attention and flirting so you will have to deal with that.

Same for guys id like to date a super model but for some strange reason none are interested in me oh wait I don't have any money, car expensive house, bout, plane etc...

Ok, so I've come across this situation before. Everyone said i was way hotter than my girlfriend at the time (she moved away with her family, so we had to break up). They would seem personally offended that i would date someone like her, even though she was the nicest person I've ever met. I called every single one of them "shallow idiots", cause this pisses me the f*** off. Even got into a physical fight with one of my friends over it and broke his jaw. I regret none of it. Even so, opinions and comments of other people are inevitable. Anyway, these comments don't last long, ones the people around you are used to the beauty and the beast as a couple the bad comments would stop. Looks would not matter anymore if both of you are old and wrinkled.

Attraction is based on more factors than just physical appearance -- I've seen couples where both parties' perceived attractiveness was equal, and others where one person was stereotypically more physically attractive than the other...and it didn't matter, since both pairs were phenomenally happy. And if someone actually had the balls to say something to a guy like "Oh, why are you with her when you could have someone hotter?", they should be told to mind their own damn business.

I don't like this trend, I see a lot of okay looking girls with great looking guys, on the other hand I have never seen a great looking girl with an okay looking guy. As if some of us don't have enough confidence issues already!

As for what's wrong, nothing. Eventually you will get older and looks won't matter much at all, but until then there's a chance he would "upgrade" to someone hotter.
