Are some girls just too shy to say yes to a guy, even if they like him?

There's a very shy girl who really confuses me.

I love her and I told her so (I even wrote it in a note so she wouldn't be too embarrassed) and she said she didn't feel the same way. I would normally just accept it but the thing is, I don't believe her! I don't want to waste your time going into details but she quite obviously liked me and we have loads in common and a lot of people who know us both thought we should go out with each other.

Anyway, around the time that her best friend got a boyfreind and started making out with him in public she started trying to avoid me and when I told her how I felt we basically stopped talking.

So I just want to check, am I delusional or are some girls actually like this?

Because men use language differently than women do, there's ample room for miscommunication and confusion. Guys use language for it utilitarian value: we solve problems with it. We fix stuff. We try and make ourselves useful with it. Women use language to solidify relationships.

So when a woman says something, men *tend* to take it at face value: we take people at their word. This can be confusing for women.

When a woman uses language to reject me, I suspect she means it. That makes me feel rejected, and doesn't make me want to try harder. it makes me want to crawl into a hole. (Well, how would YOU feel?)

I think you were delusional and assumed every "signal" as a sign of reciprocated affection. But in reality, you have a flaw that she is not willing to accept, therefore she rejected you, and now doing the "avoidance run" like all girls do for some mysterious reason after they reject a "good friend of theirs whom they don't want to lose".

You may have just totally surprised her so much that she doesn't know what to say and it scared her... but not necessarily in a bad way. She just doesn't really know what to do. Maybe she regrets telling you no so she avoids you because she doesn't know what else to do.

She really could not like you like that. In that case, I'm sorry for you.

I think you might need to confront her again about it maybe? Just so you know for sure. But be polite about it ya know?

i would say its a lot like how I am

it was mostly a pride thing and I just had a habit of rejecting guys even when I had a thing for them I just always felt like I didn't need anyone but in the end I would end up regretting it! :)

keep trying if you truly thinks she likes you back and be consistent :)

Yes some girls are actually like that.Shy girls may need more persistance&patience because it's true most of the time they can say no 2 sm1 they really like.

Well, I have to say- I think she likes you. But she's probably scared to be in a relationship, or she's not allowed to date. Do you know if she's allowed to date or not? Because if she isn't, she most likely tries not to hide a lot from her parents- and then suddenly she would have to, which might make her hesitate in telling you how she feels.

Maybe she does like you, but feels uncomfortable with a real relationship. I know that if it looks like a relationship that won't work I won't go for it.

Some girls DO do that, that's when they are a new level of shy- SUPER SHY =P Sounds like, if you think she's lying, then she probably is.
