Guys, Can a guy really be too shy to ask a girl to be his gf? If so, why?

I had a convo with a guy who him and I both really like each other and have so for quite some time. So a few weeks I asked him if he would want for me to be his girlfriend eventually. I asked because I wanted to know if we were both on the same page about what we wanted to happen out of this whole thing, I wasn't sure if he wanted a relationship like I did. He smiled and said yes. Then that's when I told him that I would like for him to be my boyfriend but that's it up to him of when he wants for us to take that next step. I wasn't asking him out, but wanted to know where his head was at. With finding out that info, in a separate convo, I asked him if he's scared to be with me, like have me as his girlfriend, and he said no he's just shy. We don't need to rush into something like this, but at the same time it doesn't need to be a year later and we're still in this grey area because he's too shy. I want him go ask me when he's good and ready and comfortable. He's the most amazing guy I've ever met so forgetting him isn't an option. Why would he be shy to ask me to be his girlfriend though? Why is it hard for him? He knows I want for him to be my boyfriend and that I wouldn't say no. Guys maybe you can help me out to understand better!

Generally yes. A guy can be this shy.

However, in your case, he already knows that you also want to be his girlfriend. So i dont think, it is only because he is shy.

I think he is also insecure. Maybe he thinks that you are too good for him and does not want to be selfish enough to deny you what you deserve.

Hmm I didn't think of it like that, but I knew there had to be some reason why he still wouldn't ask me out knowing that I want him to be my boyfriend and me his girlfriend 🤔

I am shy cause of lack of confidence , since such issue is not there I can't help you , but talk to him frequently , spend time alone with him and that will help in strengthening his will power enough to ask you out... and good luck...👍

yes! cause woman are unpredictable. woman will get dressed up all nice and gorgeous to go walk around but then get mad when we check you out. then I'm the bad guy. it's always scary

Yeah some girls can really be something else, me I'm pretty much upfront so I don't play games like that. Last time I checked it was a compliment when a guy checked you out, why some females get mad I don't know I guess because they're crazy 😳

He knows I wouldn't reject him if he asked, that's what I'm confused about. He knows I want him as my boyfriend but he's shy like he doesn't know that I'll say yes.
