Just saying, dresses have nothing to do with this. It's just lack of self control, mental disability and ego that causes most crimes that are sexual in nature. If we get back Victorian era clothing, a woman without gloves would turn a guy on.
It might... While it's important to acknowledge the control of a man, dressing more modest would keep men from having the thoughts in the first place. And allowing the fun stuff for the bed room
Again, men need to take responsibility for their thoughts and actions. Learn self restraint and control. there's no such thing as 'boys will be boys' instead its more like parents aren't parents.
No, violent crime rates are going down anyway and women are waring what ever they want (for the most part) I do like Victorian era fashion though and not just for women, it looks great on men too.
How about teaching men that no matter how a woman is dressed it doesn’t give them permission to rape the woman. Some of these people try to justify rape and that’s just wrong.
Voted E , a predator is a predator , and will not give a flying one about what she is wearing , they will choose a perceived easy target , based on how confidently she carries herself , mode of dress is irrelevant.
Maybe in the middle-east. Actually, when i think about it. Scandinavia and Northern Europe resembles a third world country these days. So maybe it will. Put it to the rest then.
Where are all these people who are blaming female dress styles for rapes, assaults and other crimes against women and girls? I must be living under a rock or something because I just rarely see any of that.
That's not the case, these dresses took a hella lot of time to get undone. It would take like 15 minutes to undress her at least. Which would be enough to alert people
@Nadim171 That's if you actually take the TIME to disrobe somebody, which you're not going to do if you're raping someone. Besides, you're not going to see women in dresses like that again, on a regular basis, on this planet !
@Nadim171 Of course it's possible. By definition, it involves penetration which can be accomplished by lifting up a dress, or series of petticoats, and pushing aside any garments covering the vagina or anus. Being "naked" is not a requirement.
@Nadim171 I agree... and IF I were a rapist, I'd be gagging the woman probably, and ripping off her clothes, which wouldn't take 15 minutes. Or I'd take her someplace where no one could hear her scream. The point is, which you're missing, is that if a man is bent on raping a woman, in any era, the clothes she does or doesn't have on, is not going to stop him or even deter him. He's a rapist, not a logician.
@Nadim171 Dude... your metaphors are adorable, sort of, but they don't address the issue of rape. Your argument that clothing which is difficult to remove will lower the incidence of rape... is absurd, to put it simply.

I voted E. Male sexual predators are going to assault/rape and molest women regardless of what they are wearing.
AGREED! :)

I am pleasantly surprised to see that most guys on this site voted E!
YES!! AGREED!

Not at all. Women suffered much more violence in Victorian times than they do today.
And of course they were much less free to pursue their own goals.
No. It has nothing to do with what people wear, and everything to do with power. It's about catching a girl in a vulnerable situation.
Women Back then we're raped and women in Burkas are still getting raped today. It's the rapists fault. Not the victims
No, but Victorian dress style is epic & I would love for it to be back in style.
Maybe in the middle-east.
Actually, when i think about it. Scandinavia and Northern Europe resembles a third world country these days. So maybe it will.
Put it to the rest then.
I litterly spend 8hr a day 6 days a week around naked girls and I have never raped anyone
Rape is about power, not sex. Its vulnerability that attracys the rapist, not amount of skin being shown.
Dumb idea. Most rapes are committed by family / friends not by strangers.

I don't know, abuse happens even in the most strict cultures
People should wear bullet proof vests, conservative dress, and also a helmet.
Rape... has nothing to do... with how a woman is dressed. DUH... fucking... DUH !!! Just ask your friends in Pakistan.

You can't rape a woman while she's dressed. It's just not phisically possible.
God knows what fashion might be like 3 years from now

Yes, however those dresses were made of more layers of garments under the main dress than you can count, they were also too Bushy and big.

If you put an iron door on your appartment it would take more effort to break it than if you put a wooden door, or no door at all.
It doesn't make it impossible, but it makes it harder. It was designed for that reason

Thanks, lower yes, prevent no.
