When it comes to guys, we're really pretty simple. Either he really doesn't want a girlfriend right now (perhaps he's been through a recent breakup, or he doesn't feel ready because of his schedule or emotional maturity), or he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. In either case, I'm sure he would still appreciate having you as a friend, and now the ball's in his court. Since he says he isn't ready for a relationship right now, he needs to take the initiative when he is ready. If he's having a hard time with things, he would probably appreciate some support, so keep that in mind.

It pretty much means the same thing as when a girl says "I'm just not looking for a relationship right now" to a guy. It means he doesnt' want to go out with HER. If she were exactly what he's looking for, he'd make the time in a heartbeat.

Basically, in both cases it's just a way to let someone down easy. Don't wait around for a change of heart--it never happens.

well from experience I'm not wanting to date the girl for one reason or another, usually it would be because she is so far away, but I usualy say that if I just don't wanna date the girl at the time or I have so much going on in my life at the moment.

yea well never know what's goign on maybe a bad break up or something, you pretty you can find someone just keep your head up. you sound smart you'll know what to do in time, give it some time if your not interested in anyone else then give it another try another time then hell see your there try to watch some his games or something that would make him feel like you coul be there if you wanted.

I feel like this answer is simultaneously inadequate and offensive. Inadequate in that you didn't answer her question, and offensive in that you imply that any young man with a valid reason for not dating (perhaps they just went through a bad break-up) is not normal, and is wasting their youth. That being said, I believe insensitive applies to your answer as well. It's nice that you complimented her, but I think you did so in a very poor manner.
