I know I would have been before honestly when I was 16 or so. If I didn't look at least a 7 I felt worthless and didn't want to go outside (I'm not actually that pretty by the way, but I thought I was). So I understand but honestly a 6/10 isn't bad at all, it really isn't. It basically means cute or a little pretty to most people I think. you're still attractive. and you're better off than most people.

Either it means: -your a 6/10 -your slightly more or less than a 6/10 (they could slightly round up your number to be nice but it's still objective. also people don't have the same notion of what a 6 is. most people agree on what a numbers means sort of, but not exactly exactly. just look at rating scales online or ask what people define as a 6. for some people 6 = 5 or 6=7. So don't be too caught up) you're average (it's not acceptable to tell people they're average and people want to be nice but still kinda objective so that's one option. done this myself a few times too btw) -your ugly (I've seen people, tell ugly girls they were like 6,7,8's all that to be nice so that's possible too)
Anyway don't stress about it, it doesn't say much about you except that your not an 8 or schrek or something.
Yes, I would be upset also. I feel that 6 is a pretty low score. I'd be sad after hearing that someone thought I'm a 6. But look on the bright side, that was only one person's opinion, so it probably doesn't matter very much. You probably look fine to most people and a lot better than average.
If the rater is actually being truthful, then a 6/10 would mean someone is above average. That's basically a bittersweet compliment.
Now of course I'm assuming you're American, and American culture tends to focus on trying to embellish positive qualities and tiptoe around people's feelings out of fear of offending each other. This means when using a 10-point rating scale, people are a lot more likely to give someone who's really a 1-4 a 5 or 6 while quietly convincing themselves that they're only interested in 7+. Physical attractiveness is also subjective since not everyone has the same standards.
Have you also ever considered how off-putting it would actually be if a friend of yours' that you've known for a while gave you an abnormally high score?

Why should we care what someone rates us as? Let them be. Just don't ever, repeat, never ever let yourself believe you're not a 10. The moment you do that, opens the door to why everyone else should also not rate you a 10.
Everyone has different opinions, and let that idea actually sink through. It is completely impossible to be beautiful to everyone, like actually, it's impossible. First of all, growing up with different parents, different cultures, different beauty standards, and the most crucial part is that we all just were born to think differently--you can't aesthetically satisfy everyone in the room. Also, I kind of understand your point of view. I think it's fine to be upset for a little bit because, y'know, sometimes that stuff really stings. I understand what you mean when you have a high opinion of yourself, and then someone says you're a 6/10. But then again, it's only ONE opinion. When I say that beauty standards are vast, they ARE vast. People have completely different standards. Like, people may have leniency to different flaws, while others completely find them unattractive. Or, people may like a certain feature, while others just find them unattractive. Don't let it seriously get to you. I understand why you would be feeling this way (I got called a 7 once, and I felt pretty sad--pretty sure she was also just trying to be nice). I think what will make you more attractive, though, is if you were more confident and were perceived as more elegant. I'm not joking when I say that those types of personalities and BODY LANGUAGE can really be a way to hide physical flaws and make you seem more attractive. Maybe watch for your body language on how to seem more elegant/confident, and you might see a difference in how people perceive you.
No, one person's opinion of you does not make you ugly. Besides, 6/10 is still above average (which is 5/10).
I've honestly never gotten the point of rating looks on a number scale, myself. Can I just say I find someone attractive or I don't and be done with it? Lol.
Anyway, everyone is going to have a different opinion of what they find attractive. What I might find as a hypothetical 10/10 might be a 6/10 to someone else, and vice versa.
Truth or dare is a fun game & sometimes it may not be fun at all. As for your rating you just have to remember you were playing a game & one person’s opinion is simply their opinion & it may not be fact as well. On another note you were rated by one person & I wouldn’t let what one person said cloud up your thoughts. As for your true rating you are the only one that knows the answer & if you stand in front of a mirror I’m sure you’ll see someone beautiful, someone smart & someone who is wonderful & so much more standing there. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate you as an 11 so turn that frown upside down you’re amazing.

Everyone is not attracted to everyone else. My dad thinks my brother's wife is not that pretty, but my brother is attracted to her. Some numbering system is irrelevant as true attraction is based on pheromones. If someone is objective enough to number you they aren't attracted (move on). I rank women on levels of attraction, repulsion, or neutral. Some women I have absolutely no feelings, some I have strong or weak attraction, while others are repulsive or really repulsive. This is all independent of their pictures, some women have nice pictures whilst being repulsive in real life. This is part of the reason people look different in photos than in real life or how you notice them in real life.
People get into certain headspaces where they can only think in one way. They got the green light to judge and thought little beyond it. Beauty is subjective, you can't put it on a scale. If your friend's are guilty of anything it's that they accepted the terms of the game they were playing at the time. I'm sure they didn't mean to hurt your feelings but it does indicate a superiority complex on their part. Humans get like that, there's not much you can say.
No. 6/10 means slightly above average. So if even someone who doesn't see you as their "type" rates you above average, then there is enough variation in individuals' preferences that there will be someone out there that finds you a 10/10.
However, if you're rated below average by anyone, you're screwed--at least until you make drastic changes to your appearance.
The kind of person I am, I'd nit give a single f*ck to what a random person said about me. They can me zero , or negative 10. Who cares. I'm cool , I'm alright, I'm happy... But yeah, it'll take some time to develop this attitude. Life is too awesome to be bothered by what people think about you. People even hate God, lol. So relaxx. People who matter to u will find u awesome. And people who don't, they can think whatever they want, they should just not exist for u 😊
No a 6 means you have a little bit of physical charm that can be enhanced with good characteristics. There no point in worrying about the 4 gap, I'd be more upset if I was considered a 5 since I'd have no physical attributes to feel chuffed about in the slightest. 10/10 is also argued to be controversially biased compared to thr other ratings since no one is physically perfect. So in some cases your only 3 places away from being good damn looking.
What's average an "8"? If you average 1 and 10, it's 5.5, so a 6 is still above average. So, you're not as pretty as the "8" who complained earlier about the guy saying she was ONLY an "8", but you're still above average.

6 out of 10 is a bit more on the more attractive side of the middle 'average'. A 6 may be a bit on the average side, but still far from having fallen from the ugly tree and hitting every branch on the way down. In short, 6 is a bit above average, and that is more attractive in several ways than being a 'stunning' 9 or 10.
No, because I'd be at least somewhat attractive in their eyes. So if I did want to get with them in the future, I would stand somewhat of a chance. And even if they rated me a 0/10, at least I would know definitively how they view me. So it's a win-win.
I wouldn't worry about it. Beauty can't be defined by a number and it sure as hell shouldn't be. Rating people based on looks is honestly disgusting behavior.
Don't let it worry you. You gotta understand that everyone has their own perception of general attractiveness. Had you been rated by 100 strangers, you could easily have been rated anywhere from 1 up to 10. Its subjective to the individual and you should never let one persons opinion cause you concern.
Nah, if 5/10 is taken to be "average" (which in a statistically accurate model, it would be), then 6/10 is still "above average". Besides, researchers prove that women are more likely to vote average-looking men as "below average", whereas men usually vote women very low or very high, with less in the middle. So men and women both seem to have skewed perceptions when it comes to rank-ordering physical attractiveness.
6 is more average, but not ugly kind of thing. I personally can't rate people as there is no ideal in terms of beauty. If you show 2 guys who have all the qualities i want in a man they are still going to be different, but they couldn't be both a 10, because they are different. But they would be in the very good looking category.
No I rate myself a 7 anw so 6 isn't that far off. But still, not everyone is going to find me attractive and that's okay. I might not be the prettiest girl in the room and that's okay too. You have more to offer than your looks.
First off, it's her personal opinion. Looks are subjective. Second, she's a girl... You can't really tell if she said that honestly or because she's jealous or has a grudge. Last, 6 isn't bad either. Most people would date a 5 with a good personality, because 5 is average.
If a person of the opposite gender rates you as 6/10 then they probably genuinely mean you are of more than average attractiveness. With another girl, things are much more complex. She may actually feel you are below average, but not wish to seem bitchy. Or she may be being bitchy and underrating you.
5 is average. 6 is above average. Do you really think everyone has to see you as a 9 or 10? I'm sure a few do, but people have different tastes. If you found out what he considers a 10, you might be happy to be a 6 to him.
