If I haven't heard from her in a while, is it safe to assume she's not interested?

I think the best way to describe this girl is that she's slightly or mildly interested. I thought I'd give a little chase anyway just to see what happens. Long story short, she seems like she likes to play games, though she is shy. I've initiated the conversations in person, and the couple times we texted, I've initiated those, too. She hasn't told me off or said she wasn't interested; she's essentially been receptive, but hasn't given me hints whether to take things further, if you know what I mean, though I tried and...well, like I said, she has traits of game-playing.

So I decided to pull back and see what happens. I didn't contact her for more than a week. I haven't seen her around in that span, also. I figured if she still had some interest, she'd text or something. But I haven't heard a peep from her. Should I just assume that's that and just forget her?

majority of girls don't wanna seem desperate.. we care too much what others might think...

Also girls don't like to get their hopes way too high(eventhough they do xD) since they think their feelings might get hurt, if they show too much affection...

thats why they may seem like they don't care but deep inside, they MIGHT be happy..

Keep in mind that girls are dishonest with their feelings o.o

I agree with the anonymous user. I typically wait for guys to text first. It's not a game playing thing for me, though. I'm shy, so I don't like starting conversations. I usually assume that if a guy is interested in me, he'll contact me. It's only been a week, but I know it feels like much longer than it is. If you want to talk to her, contact her. :)

No, I disagree. That doesn't come off as desperate to me. It may to some girls, I don't know. I like being pursued at the beginning, and typically guys like to pursue...so it works out. If a guy puts in effort to try to talk to me, it's a great thing.

Ok, all I was saying, though, if I were that girl it wouldn't come off as desperate to me. It would come off as interest. Now, if a guy was texting/calling me and I had zero interest, I would politely let him know I wasn't that into him...or I would stop responding. If she's responding and seems happy to be talking to you, she's not thinking you're desperate.

This sounds like a similar situation I'm in. It's tough when you feel like you're coming across as desperate, like it's OK to chase but there's a fine line between chasing and looking desperate.

I haven't spoke to mine in over a week now, think I'm gonna roll the dice and give it another shot.

I would just send her a text see what's up, is she still alive. Don't expect a reply or anything. It is better to give it a shot, even if it is a long shot than to not even try, what do you have to lose.

I am on the opposite end. I ignored him for a week and didn't contact him and blocked him out for week. It wasn't and it isn't that I am not interested. We have been seeing each other for almost 6 months and I love him so much already. But I feel like he doesn't take me serious, never listens to me, and is always playing games. He wants to put me on his schedule and I hate it. I just called him after a week. Haven't talked to him since June 29th. I then texted him I was going out of town & he didn't text back. He is as petty as I am so I most likely won't hear back. But he has my heart and I will always always hold a special place for him no matter what happens. I just think he might just be a player and don't want to get my heart broken just in case. If you have to Facebook or email her reach out. Who cares if it sounds needy and desperate. That is probably what she is waiting for and thinks you aren't interested.

I wouldn't assume anything. Try contacting her again and see what happens. If you really want to know if she's into you then ask her straight forward questions to get your answer. She may be waiting for you so she's not giving in. My friend never initiates anything.

make sure you don't ask her l " do you like me?" cus she might think that you don't want her to like you.. or something .. its hard to explain but just don't ask that.. its like she'll think that she's a nuisance to you..She'll think that someone told you that she likes you and she;; think that you want her to say no.. something like that..

This is usally a commen mistake that I make.. I always wait for a guy to text me no matter how bad I want to talk to him and since you mention she's shy that could have a lot to do with it
