Recently, I have met this girl I took an interest in. After talking for some weeks I just confessed my feelings towards her and told her that I'd like to get to know her better, because I'm the type of person that just outright speaks their mind. She was very surprised by it and really appreciated my honesty. She's sadly going through a very recent rough breakup and told me she wasn't ready for a new relationship and wanted to stay friends.
Accepting the rejection, I decided to go on with my life and forget all about it. But only a day after, she started texting me about random things. I thought to myself "Oh, she wants to cheer me up". I thought this would go over, but we've been texting each other for hours almost daily for a solid two weeks. She'd tell me about her hobbies, her work, her cooking, etc. Sometimes I'd text her first, other times she'd text me first.
What confuses me is that she'd even talk to me about very personal matters (and bear in mind, we've known each other for only a month) and would also ask me about personal things, like what sort of person I am, what drives me in life, etc. She's recently asked me if I want to go to this course I have a slight interested in together.
In other words: this is exactly what I wanted in the beginning, to get to know her and her to get to know me. Now that I've gotten to know her slightly better, my interest in her has grown.
Looking at this situation, I'd think she's interested in me and is being cautious. But because of the uncertainty, it's been making me anxious and my friends noticed that about me. So I decided to go on with my life because she's rejected me in the beginning anyways. For the past week, we haven't been texting at all, which kind of confirms me that she wasn't interested in me to begin with.
In conclusion: I'm trying to let it go, even though I'm very much confused. I'm planning to ask her about this whole situation very soon though.
