Do some girls, out of pure ego, want their boyfriend/husband to spend a lot of money for them? If so, why?

A lot of people use money as a status symbol but status does not satisfy, which is why suicides are more common among the social elite than the every day poor, and most people choose status over happiness.

I remember on Valentine's day one of the women I work with getting a bouquet from her beau which she was proud of and absolutely loved... right up until another woman an hr. Later in out dept got a slightly BIGGER bouquet from her respective beau😆😆😆. Then the first woman rather than thanking him gave him an earful for being cheap. 😆😆😆
