... and says we're in a relationship, refers to me as her boyfriend in a conversation (maybe half serious), but also sometimes says we're besties. Is she actually interested or just playing around as a friend?
If you're interested, go for it. If you're not, tell her that. Don't play games. ᅠ
I can't tell you how many guys I witnessed just waiting...
Just hoping...
And the girls...
Go for it.
GO now.

Thank you for reaching out with your question. It sounds like you're feeling unsure about your friend's intentions and would like some clarity on the situation.
It's important to remember that it's okay to have questions and doubts in situations like this, especially when it comes to matters of relationships and feelings. However, it's always best to approach these kinds of conversations with empathy and understanding.
From what you've described, it seems like your friend may be joking or playfully teasing you about being in a relationship. The fact that they refer to you as their "boyfriend" in some contexts but also call you their "bestie" in others suggests that they may be blurring the lines between friendship and romance in a lighthearted way.
That being said, it's also possible that your friend may be genuinely interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with you. People often use humor or playfulness as a way to express their feelings or test the waters without putting themselves out there too explicitly.
The best way to clarify things would be to have an open and honest conversation with your friend.

When someone makes such a statement once, one can assume that this person is joking but when it becomes a habit or that this statement is recurring often, then there is more to it than a simple joke.
To set the record straight, you should ask her how she means it. If she is not serious about the relationship, then she should stop making such statements. Tell her that they put you in an uncomfortable situation and that she should refrain from talking nonsense, unless of course, you like it and would like it to be the truth. In that case, let her know as well.
Sounds like she’s joking but it is also a little bit odd. Maybe have a talk with her and ask her about this.
