Ever knew someone who was completely clueless but apparently doesn't know?

i know this girl through her work , i'm not sure what her problem is but everything she does is a dismal failure. at the place where she works there is this sign by the road but its one of those small chalk board type signs but thing is you can't read it when you drive by , like what is the point of having it there? does she not see that as an issue.

she also posts things to social media for work but its like weird , and like no one even pays any attention to the posts but she doesn't care and keeps posting the same stuff everyday. i check is another post ( story ) of the same thing in my feed , i can't see how many people actual viewed them but i doubt its very many , isn't the definition of insanity to keep trying the same thing hoping for different results , if no one cared the first 200 times why are they going to care now and suddenly all come in to her work to buy this special of the day?

and she tried to plan special events during the summer too , even more of an epic failure , no one showed up other than the people paid to be there and she like didn't even care and planned more until the summer finally over and she put out of her misery

apparently she is being paid to fail miserably? like where is the owner of this business do they not see an issue with this person?

haven't been there since last Friday , did notice they have a new " menu " according to one of her posts , not sure what difference that will make or exactly what food they now serve or what was cut from old menu. feel like there avoiding the real issues and constantly find something else to blame , lack of music likely more of the reason why its not busy at night not the menu

not sure if something is going on there or not but noticed on insta today a post about live music this weekend , same singer who had been there before. but weird says there doing cheap drinks from 10-11 which they've never done before and $ 5 shots. however being Jan/winter here no one is really around so still might not be that busy , i'm going out of town anyways. haven't seen manager in a bit but think she is still there maybe this is there desperate last attempt at bringing it to life

Dude that sounds like such a bummer situation all around. On one hand you kinda feel bad for the girl, like maybe she's really trying her best but just doesn't have great business sense. But at the same time, if she's not getting any results after so long, you'd think she'd try switching things up a bit.

As for her boss, I dunno man. Either they're totally clueless too and don't notice how little traffic she's bringing in. Or they feel bad firing her cause she seems like she's trying. Or maybe they keep her around cause she's cheap labor, even if she's not helping much.

Ultimately it's on the owner to evaluate if things are working out. But from the outside looking in, I'd be frustrated seeing so much wasted effort too. Only thing you can really do is steer clear of promotion stuff from that place lol. And if you know the owner, maybe you could offer some gentle feedback, like "Hey just wanna make sure you're satisfied overall - seems like a lot of events are kinda dead."

Who knows, might light a bulb for them or they might tell you to buzz off. Either way, not much you can do besides watch the fail train keep chugging along unfortunately!

just speculation that owner isn't seeing late light numbers accurately but it make sense that he's just seeing the total # for that shift as the night shift starts at 5pm and goes to close so whatever was made at dinner is included and dinner busier than bar nights last summer often way busier

know little about the new place or who will be working there but would not be surprised if some people from there shift over once it actually opens in the new year as they'd want staff who know the business and had experience right?

the promotion nights were so weird , one was held the same Friday as a massive country concert which occured an hour away , was like 40,000 people at it , no wonder the place dead that night , she was so clueless she though it still going to be busy , had 10 bartenders working that night and might of been as many customers as staff in the place at some points

i've never really talked to the owner before , seen him there a couple times during the summer , was during the day , he'd sort of sit at the bar drinking a beer. almost like everyone affaird of him , the girls act differently when he's around. he seems kind of like a loser for someone who owns a business , like something else was bothering him at the time maybe?

i wondered if perhaps was something else going on in his life and he wasn't too focused on the business? perhaps an ill parent or relative maybe? or perhaps he went through a bad break up or something , he had dated this real estate agent a couple years back but she's way younger than him so of course it didn't work out

weird i found that girls page on linkedin , but it hasn't been updated in years , odd we went to the same college in another city in 2010 , says she took advertising and marketing and did writing. also 2 recomendations posted to her page but there both from professors at that college not employers and page makes no mention of current job despite fact she's worked there for several years. also not an jobs listed at restaurants / bars but worked 2 brief jobs in marketing/ real estate around 2013/14

Man, it sounds like there's way more going on here under the surface than it seems! No wonder their promotions are such a mess if she's planning them on nights when there's huge concerts happening nearby. Totally clueless. And having that many bartenders for basically no customers, what a joke.

forgot to mention i recall hearing an odd story about the owner a few years back , i meet this really attractive girl who worked as a server at a restaurant in another nearby town around 2015 . she would of been like 21 or 22 at the time , she told me that she served the owner of this pub one day and that he bragged to her about being the owner and left a big tip but he would of been like 50 or so at the time then. so he goes to other places and leaves big tips and throws his money and ego around but apparently has little time to actually run this business which seems headed into the ground and doomed.

i felt like she stayed for the money too , but if the place isn't even busy on a Friday night she isn't even making much money? last Friday was her and 2 other servers and place half empty , they can't possibly have done well

i got out a calculator , if you assume she's making $50 each time she's doing one of these food pictures for the pubs instagram and she has done 100 of them that equals $ 5000 .

if you assume she's making $25 each time and done 100 its $ 2500

but she's done so many i bet its more like 200 of these pictures as there is one everyday and even if you assume only $25 each that is still $5000

so maybe that is why she keeps doing them despite the fact no one seems to care , she's found a way to make some extra money despite bar being empty , she just takes a picture of the food and posts it online claiming to do work for the pub on there social media page , but in reality no one is really going to come out on Friday night cause she posted a picture of a hot dog to instagram stories

the instagram page is definitely weird , if you look at the main page , its not even that current , most recent post is from September and only 6 posts from 2023 then your into older posts from past years so its not even that active. so it makes no sense focusing so much time there , she posted another ( story ) today picture of a burger and soup.

i went there briefly afterwork today but blonde girl / others not there. manager girl was there by herself and i wanted to ask her about the live music but just didn't feel up to it. she seemed to like be in her own world , was also a couple other people there , not busy but not as quiet as last week. work appears to be moving full speed ahead on the new place , looks like there clearing space beside the building for a large outdoor patio which will be bad for business at the pub as thats there main thing too.

talked to a girl who works at another nearby place about the live music , she said they hadn't done any for a while too and has people come into her place asking if there is anywhere in town that does live music at night. so yeah other people around here are wondering too

was also a restaurant down the street that had live music last night , a fundraiser for a local group but wanted $20 just to walk in so i didn't go , that place used to sometimes do live music before covid but has not had any in years

update haven't been there since Saturday and not going tonight either , new place across street seems to be well on its way and moving ahead with construction. i think when it opens its going to clobber the other place and it won't even be close. sort of like a first round boxing knock out.

the old place could of perhaps saved some business if they made changes and rebranded Friday/Saturday night into something else but seem unwilling to do anything. perhaps will make changes come spring when place is empty and everyone at new spot instead but by then its going to be too late. think they'll be luck to keep 50 % of the business they had last year at same time but could see an even worse senario if new spot really catches on although being downtown is still other people around who will go there and might get a lot of the people who cannot get in new place cause its too busy /line up etc

i didn't go there last weekend , went out of town to another spot which was like packed but its like an hour away.

did go in there after work today , hadn't been there in like 2 weeks , manager not there , talked to one of the servers about things. still few answers

an update from Friday night , went there and still no live music , place was a bit busier but only cause 1 social group of 20-30 somethings party people decided to show up after not being there lately , also maybe some people post Christmas parties? who had nothing else to do.

i talked to her a bit then at some point manager turned music up insanely loud , like way too loud for a small pub , though she might of been going unhinged as we had predicted but volume seemed to gradually go down later. they also served that group of party people way too many shots like they were at bar and obviously had way too much to drink , so apparently only way to make money is to over serve the regulars

anyways not going there tonight as i have to go out early Sunday morning for something else unrelated.

i'm not sure when the new place is actually opening , heard spring 2024 but there appears to be a lot of work still to be done on that site. and haven't seen anything anywhere advertising for staff which can be tough to find around here. and google search doesn't bring up anything , its part of some small almost unknown chain that has a couple locations open in other places but i've never been to one and focuses on " caesars "

when i was out of town this weekend saw a girl from hometown in a bar there , she's not one of the girls who worked there , she is like into dance or dance instructor , have seen her there before but she didn't seem to come out this holidays and her social media doesn't even show her doing anything this holidays so she likes to go to bars often when at school in another city but couldn't of been bothered to come out here? and apparently did nothing when back home?

after i posted the thing about camera's , was reading online and even with the ones he has placed in the open , he could have a view of the entire indoor area. as quality of camera's has improved so much over the years. with 1 camera he could watch the entire area as its not very big a space in terms of square feet ( the indoor area that is , in summer is a bigger outdoor area )

i feel like there almost certainlty is other camera's in the building , of course i'm not an expert and could not go in certain places to look for them such as storage areas, hall ways , washrooms etc

i know at my work , my boss mentioned that she can view the security camera's from her house. so for sure its extremely likely he has them set up that way too , he could be watching the restaurant rate now from his second place in florida for all we know.

i tried reading through the site as to what the exact conditions are for someone to be a holder of a liquor license although have not found them yet. so sure exactly what personal standards must be meet , everything i saw so far about serving booze

i recall years ago there used to be this old man downtown who sold hot dogs at his stand he owned , never though anything weird about it and went there more than a few times. never a red flag or though anything weird about him. but turns out years later it was revealed he was like a pedophile or such and his business license with the town was pulled and he was never allowed to sell hot dogs downtown again.

so this bar would need a license with the town too , but small towns are so corrupt there'd be no point in trying to talk to anyone at town hall about this and he may have buddies who work there who would alert him to my search. so not an option

i've been to that chain restaurant before and never seen bad behaviour , its not even open late and doesn't do bar nights or anything like that. i've seen people drink there , but its like someone has a beer or 2 with there meal. never like seen crazy drunkeness or type of behaviour i've seen at place downtown. there servers like work men espesially bachelor parties and get them to order way too many drinks just for a bigger tab and bigger tip

and sounds like it was just 1 incident that got chain place in trouble, one night the wrong crowd came in and got served way too much. it makes no sense as to why manager didn't cut them off and tell them to leave. even more crazy that after they got that drunk no one though to make sure none of them were driving home. at that place there parking lot is rate in front of restaurant so all they had to do was look out the front door to check that none of them were getting in there car to have prevented him from driving off that night

i'm really not sure what is going on there as i haven't been in since early Jan. but when i drove by this week barely seemed to have a pulse around noon and after work. saw no one standing outside smoking , no one walking in or out.

i've never heard any of the girls there complain about getting found online by guys who went there. and i'd imagine that most girls that age would get the odd random request online even if they didn't work at a restaurant.

some odd observations , i was right place barely has a pulse. it was a snow day today so no school kids downtown but place still open.

more info , at lunch today one of the guys who works in the kitchen was next in line to me when i was at this fast food place , so i tried to talk to him but he claimed to know nothing about what was being renovated other than they were doing a reno this week and it not open

he was also really out of it , my guess is on his day off he like slept in , got high and then decided to get lunch. like he just stood there in line waiting for his food almost in a zombie state staring at his cell phone it was really off

doesn't appear to be anything going on there this weekend no posts saying regular music guy was playing. i went to another bar thats out of town that did a country night last night instead it was packed. that bar does different themes every Friday and always really busy.

was one odd post , its like a repost of a story from a customer ( who claims to live an hour away but drove here for there cocktails ) really? you think anyone drove that far to come to this place specifically? must of been some other reason why she was here or she has nothing to do. there is evidence people are willing to drive an hour TO NOT GO to this bar but not sure anyone is doing the opposite

the manager would of been better off this winter if she had went back to school and took some small business courses to learn more about running a business than working a half empty place all winter.

It's really not a good look for them if they're not even promoting any events on the weekend, especially when other places nearby are packing people in. Really shows a lack of initiative on their part.

As for that social media post, I just can't buy someone driving an hour specifically for their cocktails. Seems more like they were passing through and stopped in out of desperation. Definitely doesn't inspire much confidence in their establishment.

I tend to agree the manager would have been better served taking some business classes over the winter. Might have learned the value of having a clear strategy and differentiating your offering from competitors.

The constant doubts and unanswered questions are certainly concerning too. You have to wonder what really gets discussed privately if everything else seems so disorganized publicly.

well last weekend an odd one rate between st patricks day and Easter both of which likely to be busier but other bars in other cities still open and busy. but march /April is slow here and not a lot of people around

that post was weird i really doubt anyone would drive an hour for one of there cocktails unless she had some other reason to come here. even if they were that good its way too far for someone to drive for one and how would she drive home? did she bring another friend to do the driving?

originally i though place just needed a new manager but now think its needs something much bigger , like to bring in neutral outside operators / management. of course current owner would never agree to let someone else run place and have control over hiring decisions. but i think it might be only way out of this mess , would be to have someone neutral not from our town take over and run place in away that follows laws and builds peoples confidence in place. they need someone with experience and new ideas. current owner /manager have nothing to offer and can't get out of this mess on own.

noticed some concert listings for summer were announced today and does look like it be a tough summer with a lot else going on.

i mentioned before last summer there was a big country concert in August and place dead that weekend. its back this year obvious but now there is also going to be another music festival 2 weeks later also in August, not country more modern , but August normally a tough month to get people out so with 2 big music festivals just got tougher , both those weekends could now be really tough

is also a concert hall around 45 minutes to an hour away , it also released its line up and its got concerts every weekend in July and August plus some in June and Sep. it gets like rock and country bands there and even other stuff too. pretty busy place and also does bar nights but not on weekend on a weekday cause thats when summer staff get time off.

so lots of concerts taking place at other places this summer , there definitely going to have a hard time getting people to go there if they can't come up with something better

wow it really is that bad , they put up a post for Easter on instagram. says there open fri , sat , sun. but only have live music Saturday with same guy as before.

Those like numbers are just abysmal, even for a smaller local business. You'd think with over 3k followers they'd crack double digits at least. Pretty clear sign the marketing strategy needs a total overhaul.

I can appreciate wanting to promote from within, but keeping the same manager after such consistently dismal results is just baffling. An advertising background means nothing if you don't understand engagement.

the final tally appears to be " 28 " likes , 5 staff and 5 or 6 small business pages almost like they were liking for self promotion but no major staff flood of likes that we saw for other post.

but still even for a bar in a smaller market to not even be able to reach 30 likes for a post about Easter weekend seems really poor. it shows the managers strategy is not working and people are not paying attention to what she posts online. its possible a lot of the followers for this page are ignoring her endless food posts so with instagrams internal ways of doing things there not seeing these other posts.

went to nearby place this afternoon , girl i know who is dating cook was not there and that place was not busy either.

saw a couple people walk in and out of other spot when i was nearby but didn't really look busy but April is a slow time of year here and not a lot of tourists around. so not sure how busy anyways regardless of its issues.

i drove by Friday night around dinner ( 6 30 ) and downtown was like pretty empty and quiet , from across river view tried to see if there was anyone there and place looked pretty quiet if not empty , so they weren't even getting much of a dinner crowd.

then on Saturday went to pub crawl , mostly just saw a group on people i already knew ( there also from a small town but not mine ) , was many other people there , it went ok

just going through the google reviews and such for this place , is some interesting reviews there. a mix of really happy or really disapointed customers.

maybe the girls there are making big bucks , someone commented the default tip option is 25 % , of course people could make a customer tip or pay with cash ( i always pay with cash there so never used the debit machine so never noticed the way they have it set up for tips )

so if a customer uses the default tip option on a $100 bill the server is getting $25 and on a $50 bill there getting $12.50 , that could add up to a lot of money is place was actually busy like during summer

someone else also commented recently that they were there on a Friday and was only 1 server present , how could there only be 1 server on a Friday. unless it was like afternoon before super or someone couldn't make it in or something. i've never been there on a Friday night and seen only 1 server

a lot of people liked the location and felt that was one of the best things about place , some didn't feel it had much else going for it. some liked food a lot , some didn't at all

continued i'm really skeptical that they can turn things around. a great location perhaps can keep a restaurant in business but matters less for a bar. younger people more want a party scene and want to see there friends. having a view of the water isn't really as much of a selling point to that crowd. years ago used to be a bar here in the basement of a large building downtown , it didn't have a view or anything but people went there some nights. it closed down around 2009 when building it was in had a fire and everything ruined. it never re opened in a new location.

it seems like there just waiting for the tourists to come back so they can charge them 25 % tips. now not sure if that is high or not , googled online and is different comments on tips and what % is good or not. but for what your getting at this place seems like a lot to ask people to pay on top of actual bill which is already rather high prices.

and if location is all it has going for it and new place takes a lot of the " location " business as people go there instead. i don't know seems like its headed for a tough time ahead

it appears the big tips here don't just happen by chance or cause service exceptional or even cause servers really hot. there built rate into the system , regardless of service or experience this place expects a huge tip on top of the already high prices they expect people to pay for food.

i find it really perplexing why they'd feel it be necessary to set it so high especially in a small town. they seem to have such a natural spot for servers to make tips too , and attractive younger women and generally tipped well anyways. never heard of attractive women that age being tipped poorly at a summer hot spot before

so it really leads to the why's? either someone really got greedy or owner did it so girls automatically make a lot of money there so they'd feel loyalty to him and overlook his bizarre misdeeds. but it may have backfired as it likely decreased there motivation to please customers so they'd naturally leave good tips. it possibly created a sense of " entitlement " that there entitled to huge tips regardless of the customers experience. and entitlement always tends to not lead to good things in the end.

its not right for servers to feel there entitled to huge tips from every customer simply cause they came in and ordered something. servers deserve huge tips when they go above the basics and serve someone beyond what they'd get somewhere else and create a memorable experience they enjoyed. so the 25 % has perhaps created a rotten and spoiled staff who feel entitled to huge pay cheques and big tips, not because they did something special just cause they work there.

it also borders on blackmail , especially for regulars who know the staff, there almost forcing them to leave huge tips or else they'll look cheap and perhaps not be served as well next time cause they didn't pay the 25% as recommended. it really feels like blackmail to me to do this in a small town and leaves me with a really bad feeling about this place. like its really only about the money at this point, nothing else and nothing less

forgot to mention drove by the new place yesterday , still looks like a construction mess and unclear when it will be ready to open but a lot of works remains.

place we've talked about had its mini patio open yesterday and was a couple people on it as it was nice here but main patio not open yet and staff still away at school till mid to end of April.

the tip thing totally is perplexing , why would an owner want to create a sense of entitlement among his staff that they were entitled to huge tips from everyone who came there regardless of experience or level of enjoyment. especially when there type of people who would likely be tipped well anyways and don't need the default level to be so high.

true customers should be tipping and its rude not to tip but to expect a family of 4 to be tipping an extra $25 - $30 on a dinner out is a lot of money these days and really comes off as excessive. and large tips like that generally happen cause person had an exceptional time out or really enjoyed meeting the server and though service exceptional. not just cause they took order and walked food out to table 20 minutes later.

although he managed to get a bunch of hot girls to work at his place and ask no questions of his bad deeds. its perhaps backfired long term as he has created an experience that benefits the staff more than the customers and customer satisfaction is always suppose to come first. he needs customers to come in and feel appreciated and liked. if they feel the service is good they will tip good.

it seems so off to create a culture there that basically tells the girls there entitled to 25 % tips for every customer regardless of if they only provided basic service. i don't understand why he though this would be a good thing long term , especially with a local long time customer base. one thing if your never going to see the customer again ( a random tourist ) but locals expect something more real and genuine

found an interesting article online about a nightclub in ( toronto ) that closed and then re invented into a new bar / nightclub. owner is quoted as saying he knew his bar had run its course and it was time for something new. www.blogto.com/.../

its too bad the owner of place we keep talking about does not have the same realisation , the reality is sometimes bars/ restaurants just run out of gas and its time for something new. on google it says the average lifespan of a restaurant is 8 - 10 years. and this spot has been there longer than that so obviously its past the point of expiry. it seems people are over it and its not really a place on many peoples radar anymore as a nighttime hot spot.

still have not gone back in , was nearby on Friday and it didn't appear very busy at all around 7-9 pm ish when i looked over , saw the odd person/couple walking in but appeared to be a lot of empty tables near the window.

is a lot of decisions made by owner/manager of this place which do not make a lot of sense to us or other people looking in, trying to make sense of the situation. i could try and list them all but we'd be here for a while.

"Google " LIVE Not busy this was at 6pm which you think would be dinner but according to google live its empty like virtually empty. LIVE Less busy than usual this was at 6 40 , i had to go out and checked it again when i got back.

so not good first it was not busy now its less busy than usual. ok its a rainy Tuesday so perhaps makes sense no one came out for dinner but place was basically empty for dinner according to google live. which i'm not entirely familar with , i've checked it before and was times it said place was busier than normal but mostly its said not busy.

so owner basically paying to keep the lights on and to have a couple staff man the fort as they say on a night when it appears no one is going in for anything.

we have to wonder if maybe the staff know its time is running out and perhaps thats why i was treated the way i was by them. they know that this places days are numbered, how long can someone afford to pay to keep the lights on when there is seemingly little business and interest in this place.

but i still plan to go back in at some point soon , but feel bad about it as deep down feel its not going to end well and feels awkward going into a situation that doesn't seem likely to end well.

they had an oppurtunity this winter to make changes necessary for future success but choose not to, the winter is ideal time here to refresh a restaurant in advance of busy summer season. instead owner paid to keep the lights on and allowed manager to make endless food posts which didn't lead to much of anything

the google live data is really weird for this place cause on Tuesday after being dead at dinner said it got busy around 9pm which seems weird for a Tuesday all i could think of as maybe a sports team goes there after game or practice maybe.

update , went back in this afternoon and had 1 drink , was kind of busy but weather nice and Friday afternoon crowd. rather uneventful and non of the main characters were around and staff didn't even like talk to me at all . the former manager oddly enough who was having a drink with friends at a table but i wouldn't like talk to her although she might have answers.

saw no evidence of any " renovation " when inside it looked exactly the same , yet it had been closed a month ago for reno's so who knows what they did , maybe have to look again

no sign of any students , like no student customers or staff were around like there not even back yet despite it being end of April and classes/exams long since over , i suspect there staying at school till bitter end to party 1 last weekend and will be back next week cause they'll have to leave rentals at end of April if they didn't pay for May if not in school during summer

no sign of blonde girl and no one talked about her either , was 2 of the older long term servers there today no manager thank goodness , but no sign of that blonde girl , either she's there tonight , found another job or left town , will find out eventually i guess

and construction at new place still seems really behind , looks like a mess and there big losers at this point cause they would of been packed if they were open but instead there just a mess of construction materials.

oddly busiest place was the brewery /bar that has an outdoor patio , was like packed when i drove by.

Man, that's pretty crazy what the Google live feed is showing about that place being dead quiet even late on a Friday night. Definitely doesn't bode well for how their summer nights could turn out if things don't change up soon.

When you were there earlier it seemed to have a decent crowd, so it's disappointing more folks aren't sticking around later. No wonder too, if the scene stays stale people will lose interest fast, even in a smaller town.

so is now 2 new businesses coming to town that both are targeting same crowd and will have liquor licenses. so will have to fight for same potential staff and customers from these 2 new places when they both open up later this summer , neither appears ready to open now and still a few weeks or more away

does seem like something is going to have to change soon at this place or it risks losing business to the new arrivals and becoming viewed as very stale and outdated. even in a smaller market people still get bored and things can get past there time.

update went there yesterday but did not go in the building , walked around the outside , beautiful day out , sunny nice weather , oddly patio still not open and the mini patio looked like a mess , the couple chairs tables they have on it not even set up properly. the main patio still not set up and piles of chairs on the side waiting to be set up.

didn't see any sign of any of the summer students either , only saw the manager who appeared to be waiting tables herself. but where is the other staff? they have to be back home by now , school is over and must be broke and want to earn some money right? they posted an add claiming to not be looking for servers yet don't seem to have any, so what is going on

the patio at micro brewery open last Friday , some chain restaurants have patios set up but not open yet. you think considering how dead winter was they would of opened at first chance , like what are they waiting for. weather looks kind of iffy this weekend though with some rain and some sun. according to google live they were really busy last night cause playoff NHL game on but i didn't watch it there so they got lucky after there total incompitence at opening patio despite nice may weather

i've seen times before when they send staff home after lunch if its slow , is a law here an employee must be given 3 hrs pay if they show up for work. so there might of been another server or servers there at lunch but she sent them home at 1-pm and worked rest of shift by herself

but why do that when its obviously more work and reduces the customer experience if they have to wait longer for drinks and no one to talk to when there bored at bar by self

is it really to save business money , server wage is only like $14 an hour or is it so she can keep all the tips for rest of shift for herself?

an update from last night , wish i had something better to report but pretty much went as badly as expected.
i went in around 8:30 and stayed till 10:45 or 11 pm ish

manager was there with 2 other servers , both older who have been there along time so like late 20's early 30's , the one i actually meet before she worked there as she worked as a cashier at a store near where i lived when she was in high school so known her for a long time she's still pretty good looking actually and must still go to the gym a lot

was actually fairly busy when i got there , but like an older crowd like people 50's-60's ish like grey hair crowd maybe post dinner crowd but they mostly left before 10

and very few younger party people seemed to arrive , was a couple girls back home from school but didn't see any of the girls who were students and worked there last summer , they seem to be avoiding this place like the plague and none of them came out at all

the singer guy also not there last night , manager instead had this loud playlist of techno type music playing which didn't really fit the vibe

didn't even see anyone doing shots , despite the fact you could buy one for $5 which is actually a pretty good deal , only person i saw do one was one of the girls back home she was with her sister i think and they did one at bar when i was nearby but didn't even see anyone else do one and girls working bar didn't do any either
when i left around 10:45 or 11 pm it was like almost empty , well those girls still there and a few other people but no evidence of a bar night. and a group of 4 younger people left at same time and talked to me outside and said they were going to the chain restaurant instead

they also kind of wondered why it was so quiet for a Friday and said normally it was busier , the one also said she had been there on st patricks day and it was busy.

is also a number of servers i have not seen there for a long time but i stopped going around Jan and only been back in twice since. so its possible there still working there and i have just not seen them

or they lost a number of servers over the winter , and would wonder why , were business levels so low they couldn't justify staying or did they find something else.

but they posted a help wanted add claiming to not be looking for servers yet doesn't seem to be as many different servers as other years so something doesn't add up

although still only May 4th and summer season hasn't really started yet and likely a lot of the girls from last summer still yet to appear but will appear

but really wondering about that blonde girl i was friends with there , haven't seen her in a long time and no one there has even mentioned a word about her when i was in. but if she did move on i don't blame her for leaving this situation

someone needs to talk to the manager privately and figure out what is going on here , she's obviously in too deep and has no clue what to do to fix this mess.

one possibility would be to let someone else run the bar nights on fri / sat , i've seen that done at another bar and it actually worked really well. this sports bar in another city which is sort of a college town let a group of younger people do bar nights there on Friday and its like packed and well promoted on social media, they have a real dj and everything it was a smash hit

continued , guaranteed to be way busier tonight cause there is a game 7 nhl playoff game on tonight and it doesn't start till 8pm and would run until 11 maybe , so they got lucky and don't really have to do anything tonight. but nhl playoffs are hit or miss and teams can go out and interest goes down when they do

that blonde girl is a huge Leafs fan so guaranteed she is watching the game somewhere , not sure if she will be there tonight or not as i have not seen her in some time

but very worried about the Friday night bar nights at this point , i honestly think there needs to be an intervention or something along that line. like no one seems to want to tell the owner or manager anything bad despite obvious reality

with good location they could easily get party people to come back in if there was something half descent going on there and place busy on Friday / Saturday nights , its tough to keep going through these half dead nights over and over again
